Srila Prabhupada glorifies Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura
nāmnā śrīla-kilimbikā
kṛṣṇocchiṣṭaṁ prabhuñjānā
seyaṁ nārāyaṇī matā
When Lord Kṛṣṇa was a child, He was nursed by a woman named Ambikā, who had a younger sister named Kilimbikā. During the time of Lord Caitanya’s incarnation, the same Kilimbikā used to eat the remnants of food left by Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. That Kilimbikā was Nārāyaṇī, who was a niece of Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura’s. Later on, when she grew up and married, Śrīla Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākura was born from her womb. A devotee of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa is celebrated in terms of devotional service rendered to the Lord; thus we know Śrīla Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākura as the son of Nārāyaṇī. Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura notes in this connection that there is no reference to his paternal ancestry because there is no need to understand it. Continue reading
Rocana dasa still in a nose dive

Is Rocana dasa another zonal acarya wannabe?
Sri Balarama Rasa Yatra April 15, 2014 (Mayapur time)
Books : KRSNA, The Supreme Personality of Godhead – 1970 Edition : Volume 1 : KB 1-21 / The Gopis Attracted by the Flute :
Kṛṣṇa was very pleased with the atmosphere of the forest where flowers bloomed and bees and drones hummed very jubilantly. While the birds, trees and branches were all looking very happy, Kṛṣṇa, tending the cows, accompanied by Śrī Balarāma and the cowherd boys, began to vibrate His transcendental flute. After hearing the vibration of the flute of Kṛṣṇa, the gopīs in Vṛndāvana remembered Him and began to talk amongst themselves about how nicely Kṛṣṇa was playing His flute. When the gopīs were describing the sweet vibration of Kṛṣṇa’s flute, they also remembered their pastimes with Him; thus their minds became disturbed, and they were unable to describe completely the beautiful vibrations. While discussing the transcendental vibration, they remembered also how Kṛṣṇa dressed, decorated with a peacock feather on His head, just like a dancing actor, and with blue flowers pushed over His ear. His garment glowed yellow-gold, and He was garlanded with a vaijayantī necklace. Dressed in such an attractive way, Kṛṣṇa filled up the holes of His flute with the nectar emanating from His lips. So they remembered Him, entering the forest of Vṛndāvana, which is always glorified by the footprints of Kṛṣṇa and His companions. Continue reading

playing/working in dirt, makes you smarter !!
Hare Krsna to all
Pranams
All glories to Srila Prabhupada
Well here we are again–finding out yet another great reason to start growing your own food–It makes you feel better and you become smarter !! And here is the clinical evidence to prove it.
Below is an excerpt from this article about how beneficial it is to get out there in the DIRT and ingest the bacterium floating around.
And some recent research has added another missing piece to the puzzle: It’s in the dirt. Or to be a little more specific, a strain of bacterium in soil, Mycobacterium vaccae, has been found to trigger the release of seratonin, which in turn elevates mood and decreases anxiety. And on top of that, this little bacterium has been found to improve cognitive function and possibly even treat cancer and other diseases. Which means that contact with soil, through gardening or other means , is beneficial. How did this discovery come about?
material attachment stops Krsna Seva
So grhesu saktasya. Generally, people become too much attached
to family life. I sometimes say that in the Western countries the
young boys, they come to Krsna consciousness, their only one great
asset is they are not family-wise attached. That is very good
qualification. Someway or other, they have become. Therefore their
attachment to Krsna becoming staunch. In India they have got organized
family attachment. They are not interested. They are after money now.
That I have experienced. Yes.
advancing in Krsna consciousness, but if the whole family is Krsna
conscious, that is very nice. Just like Bhaktivinoda Thakura. He was a
family man, but all of the, Bhaktivinoda Thakura, his wife, his
children–and the best children is our Guru Maharaja, best child… So
he has sung by his experience, ye dina grhe bhajana dekhi grhete
goloka bhaya. If family-wise, everyone is engaged in Krsna’s service,
that is very nice. That is not ordinary family. That attachment is not
ordinary attachment. But generally people are attached materially.
That is condemned here. ….
