All glories to Srila Prabhupada--AND Lord Nityananda Avadhuta Prabhu
These pictures are of a Hari Nama Sankirtana Party on Lord Nityananda's appearance day in Seattle,Wa.
As you can see, everyone seems to be having a wonderful time chanting and dancing (Feasting was later).
In this age it is stated in Vaisnava Scriptures that one can sufficiently and easily please the Supreme Lord Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Lord NItyananda Prabhu by simply chanting the Holy Names of God in congregation-especially on the streets and roads of this world where millions of living entities can hear it.
Our practical experience is that when we take part in this transcendental activity, not only do we individually become super charged with the Daivi sakti energy of the Lord, but everyone else who also hears or sees us also becomes similarly enlivened by the association of this Divine Sound Vibration. It is written in Vaisnava sastra that by once chanting offenselessly the Holy Names of God, one can free oneself (and all others who hear it) from all the reactions of more sins that one can even commit, just as in the jungle when the lion roars all lesser animals flee in fear.
Imagine a mountain of dirt piled up to the heavens and imagine that pile being our own personal stock of past bad karma in that form of "sinful black dirt". Now imagine that huge pile of black dirt being smashed to nothing, immediately. That is the power of the Holy Names of Krsna and Rama.
The purification takes place instantly and because we are surrounded by even larger piles of unlimited dirt in the form of this dirty age of Kali, we need to constantly chant these Divine Names of God, in the association of devotees, to insulate ourselves from further contamination. If we do not take to this simple process, we will be blackened automatically by the law of association. This subtle law means that whatever we associate with by sound, by sight, by taste, by touch, anyway, we take on that quality, immediately. Bhagavad Gita (13,22) states it thus: "Karanam guna-sango 'sya sad-asad-yoni janmasu" which means whatever modes of nature we "hang around" with, THAT nature we will acquire.
Therefore Lord Nityananda Avadhuta has very kindly taken it upon Himself to deliver all of us inmates of this nasty age of hyprocrisy and fighting if we cooperate and coordinate our lifes activities with this transcendental process of chanting Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. As Srila Prabhupada has said--"It springs automatically from the spiritual platform...
and is so easy, even a dog can take part in it."
Speaking of easy,, while we were chanting, one of our newer Bhaktas--Frank, decided to do the ole Hare Krsna quick change act from street clothes into dhoti--right on the street-but behind all of us chanting.
I looked over while he was doing this, with a big smile to him and thought--some things never change-and we can thank Lord Nityananda the Transcendental and always blissful,Avadhuta madman, for that!!
Hare Krsna
your humble servant
