SB 6.2.5-6–Translation-People in general are not very advanced in knowledge by which to discriminate between religion and irreligion. The innocent, unenlightened citizen is like an ignorant animal sleeping in peace with its head on the lap of its master, faithfully believing in the master’s protection. If a leader is actually kindhearted and deserves to be the object of a living entity’s faith, how can he punish or kill a foolish person who has fully surrendered in good faith and friendship?
PURPORT
The Sanskrit word viśvasta-ghāta refers to one who breaks faith or causes a breach of trust. The mass of people should always feel security because of the government’s protection. Therefore, how regrettable it is for the government itself to cause a breach of trust and put the citizens in difficulty for political reasons. We actually saw during the partition days in India that although Hindus and Muslims were living together peacefully, manipulation by politicians suddenly aroused feelings of hatred between them, and thus the Hindus and Muslims killed one another over politics. This is a sign of Kali-yuga. In this age, animals are kept nicely sheltered, completely confident that their masters will protect them, but unfortunately as soon as the animals are fat, they are immediately sent for slaughter. Such cruelty is condemned by Vaiṣṇavas like the Viṣṇudūtas. Indeed, the hellish conditions already described await the sinful men responsible for such suffering. One who betrays the confidence of a living entity who takes shelter of him in good faith, whether that living entity be a human being or an animal, is extremely sinful. Because such betrayals now go unpunished by the government, all of human society is terribly contaminated. The people of this age are therefore described as mandāḥ sumanda-matayo manda-bhāgyā hy upadrutāḥ [SB 1.1.10]. As a consequence of such sinfulness, men are condemned (mandāḥ), their intelligence is unclear (sumanda-matayaḥ), they are unfortunate (manda-bhāgyāḥ), and therefore they are always disturbed by many problems (upadrutāḥ). This is their situation in this life, and after death they are punished in hellish conditions.
Isopanishad -12-purport
In other words, the path of salvation from the material clutches fully depends on the principles of knowledge and detachment gained from serving the Lord. The pseudo religionists have neither knowledge nor detachment from material affairs, for most of them want to live in the golden shackles of material bondage under the shadow of philanthropic activities disguised as religious principles. By a false display of religious sentiments, they present a show of devotional service while indulging in all sorts of immoral activities. In this way they pass as spiritual masters and devotees of God. Such violators of religious principles have no respect for the authoritative ācāryas, the holy teachers in the strict disciplic succession. They ignore the Vedic injunction ācāryopāsana-“One must worship the ācārya”-and Kṛṣṇa’s statement in the Bhagavad-gītā (4.2) evaṁ paramparā-prāptam, “This supreme science of God is received through the disciplic succession.” Instead, to mislead the people in general they themselves become so-called ācāryas, but they do not even follow the principles of the ācāryas.
These rogues are the most dangerous elements in human society. Because there is no religious government, they escape punishment by the law of the state. They cannot, however, escape the law of the Supreme, who has clearly declared in the Bhagavad-gītā that envious demons in the garb of religious propagandists shall be thrown into the darkest regions of hell (Bg. 16.19-20). Śrī Īśopaniṣad confirms that these pseudo religionists are heading toward the most obnoxious place in the universe after the completion of their spiritual master business, which they conduct simply for sense gratification.
So the two above verses and purports explain how dangerous can be this business of assuming the post of Acarya, spiritual master, priest, etc especially if one has not been authorized to take up such a task by his own spiritual master.
Srila Prabhupada explains it as “cheating” and “extremely sinful”. Not a very pretty picture for a person one has assumed, has taken up some spiritual path .
Now let us take a very brief look at who this very powerful person actually is that CAN take up such a task as taking on all the sins or karma of his disciples-and not be carried away by Maya devi (the illusory energy) due to this risk. We also should understand what is the proper position of mukti or liberation.
Who is qualified to be Guru or Spiritual Mater? Here below is the qualities needed:
SB 6.4.26 Translation-When one’s consciousness is completely purified of the contamination of material existence, gross and subtle, without being agitated as in the working and dreaming states, and when the mind is not dissolved as in suṣupti, deep sleep, one comes to the platform of trance. Then one’s material vision and the memories of the mind, which manifests names and forms, are vanquished. Only in such a trance is the Supreme Personality of Godhead revealed. Thus let us offer our respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is seen in that uncontaminated, transcendental state.

Srila Prabhupāda: “That is karma” means that whatever happiness he has to enjoy, that will come automatically. Otherwise, he is destined to have something—that will come. Yathā dukham ajajñātaḥ. So our only point is that human life is very valuable. We should not waste it for nothing. Modern…, modern method of civilization is to develop economic development, to live very comfortably. That’s all right. Do it. Everyone do his own business. But you don’t forget Kṛṣṇa. That is not good. The point is, our real business is to understand Kṛṣṇa. But people do not try to understand Kṛṣṇa; they simply try for economic development. Their first business should be to understand Kṛṣṇa. Other business should be secondary. So at the present moment, it is very difficult task.

Devotee: Śrīla Prabhupāda?

Answers to Poisoning Objections

TRANSCRIPT FOR VIDEO TWO: COMMON OBJECTIONS TO THE “POISON THEORY”

Those who cannot understand or accept the evidence and scientific proof that Srila Prabhupada was actually maliciously poisoned with lethal amounts of cadmium, a heavy metal worse than arsenic, at levels about 250 times above the average normal person, often raise various objections to what is called the “poison theory.” Of course, it is no longer a theory, but an established fact. Those who are honest and who look at the evidence will agree with this, while those who have compromised honesty will come up with defective objections as to why it just can’t be true. Admittedly, it is difficult to appreciate the mountain of poisoning evidence if one is, either:

(1). Influenced or dependent in some way upon ISKCON or its leaders and gurus, all who strenuously deny the poisoning, have covered it up, and prohibit even discussion on the subject. Institutional pressures condition the way its members think, and independent thinking is almost impossible in these conditions.

(2). Someone may be unable to bear the emotional pain, shock, and ramifications that Srila Prabhupada, our beloved eternal spiritual master, was actually poisoned right under our noses while we suspected nothing. Continue reading →

There is no “better position” in this material world

Aug 22 1973 London
..We are trying to get better life. Here also, in this life also, we are struggling hard for getting better position. So real better position we do not know. That is described in the Bhagavad-gītā: saḥ amṛtatvāya kalpate. Here in this material world there is no better position because there is death. You may possess a very good better position, but you’ll have to give it up. Either the better position will give up you, or ultimately you have to give up that better position. You cannot stay. Suppose you have earned millions of dollars, millions of pounds: “Now we have got good bank balance.” You think, “Now I am in the better position.” A little dysentery, or cholera, dysentery—finished, better position. Or the bank fails—that better position gone. So there is no better position in this material world. It is a false. Therefore those who are trying to get better position in this material world, they are simply becoming defeated, because there is no better position. He’s a rascal. He’s thinking this is better position.
What is better position? Then Bhagavad-gītā says the better position is amṛtatva. Saḥ amṛtatvāya kalpate: “Don’t die. Keep your position firm.” That is better position. So is there any science to give knowledge how one becomes immortal? Yes, there is. You can become immortal. Not in this material science; not in the so-called universities. But there is knowledge in the Vedic scripture by which you can become immortal. That is better position. No more death, no more birth, no more old age, no more disease. So guru’s task is very great responsibility. He has to guide the disciple how to make him quite eligible candidate to get the perfect position, immortality, back to home, back to Godhead.
Thank you very much. (end)
——————————————————
Here is one aspect of the “better position”-eating only Krsna Prasadam every day, otherwise every mouthful is sinful reactions.
BG 3.13–The devotees of the Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food which is offered first for sacrifice. Others, who prepare food for personal sense enjoyment, verily eat only sin.

How can you say there is no “brain” behind all this material world?-SP

Srila Prabhupada….” Can you give us any solitary example that any wonderful thing has happened without a brain behind it? You cannot say. You cannot give even a single example within your experience. How we can say that this material nature, such wonderful things, manifestation… Thousands and millions of planets, they are floating in weightlessness in the air. There is no brain behind it? You throw one mechanical sputnik, and there are thousands of scientists working in the laboratory, electronics. They are pushing on the button, and everything is recorded. A plaything only. That sputnik is a plaything.

If for such a plaything so many scientists, so many brain, are working, do you think such wonderful things are happening without any brain? This is called foolishness. Foolish people will say that they are taking (place) automatically. No. They are not taking place automatically.”

Cleaning our hearts is like cleaning Lord Krsna’s Temple

Cleaning our hearts is like cleaning Lord Krsna’s Temple

Madhya 12.135-Translation–
Outside the gateway of the temple, all the roads were also cleansed, and no one could tell exactly how this was done.
PURPORT
In commenting on the cleansing of the Guṇḍicā temple, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura says thatŚrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, as the world leader, was personally giving instructions on how one should receive Lord Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, within one’s cleansed and pacified heart. If one wants to see Kṛṣṇa seated in his heart, he must first cleanse the heart, as prescribed by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu in His Śikṣāṣṭaka: ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam. In this age, everyone’s heart is especially unclean, as confirmed in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam: hṛdy antaḥ-stho hy abhadrāṇi. To wash away all dirty things accumulated within the heart, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu advised everyone to chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra. The first result will be that the heart is cleansed (ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam).

Comment–To chant Hare Krsna mantra, especially for us neophytes, is something that is done mostly out of duty or understanding that it should be done, not because of some immense ruci,(taste) or asakti (detachment) or nistha (firm unbroken faith) Later, maybe years later, for those who stick with it, we do get all these things, and are pulled naturally towards the Supreme Lord due to our natural attraction for Him, and due to our detachment from matter. Below Srila Prabhupada very clearly gives us some pitfalls or warnings to expect along that way. These are very real and we should take notice because we see today devotees doing exactly what Srila Prabhupada tells us not to do….
DSCN8637.JPG

…Similarly, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (1.2.17) confirms this statement:
śṛṇvatāṁ sva-kathāḥ kṛṣṇaḥ
puṇya-śravaṇa-kīrtanaḥ
hṛdy antaḥ-stho hy abhadrāṇi
vidhunoti suhṛt satām
“Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Personality of Godhead, who is the Paramātmā [Supersoul] in everyone’s heart and the benefactor of the truthful devotee, cleanses desire for material enjoyment from the heart of the devotee who relishes His messages, which are in themselves virtuous when properly heard and chanted.”
If a devotee at all wants to cleanse his heart, he must chant and hear the glories of the Lord, Śrī Kṛṣṇa (śṛṇvatāṁ sva-kathāḥ kṛṣṇaḥ). This is a simple process. Kṛṣṇa Himself will help cleanse the heart because He is already seated there. Kṛṣṇa wants to continue living within the heart, and the Lord wants to give directions, but one has to keep his heart as clean as Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu kept the Guṇḍicā temple. The devotee therefore has to cleanse his heart just as the Lord cleansed the Guṇḍicā temple.

Comment-So what is this process to continually cleanse the heart? It is constant and regular hearing and chanting Hare Krsna mantra and reading Srimad Bhagavatam or Bhagavag Gita, or both. If we are actually serious about seeing the Lord in the heart, then we have to take the exact medicine given by the physician Srila Prabhupada.

The world situation is- you can speak the truth-if it is palatable-SP

Prabhupada: Just see the world situation. Everyone is busy on the concept of body. So what is the position of the world? Apaṇḍita, ignorance. And such people are going on as learned scholars, politicians and leaders and so on. So how there can be peace? If you bring different types of dogs—greyhound and bulldog and Indian dog—and bring them, the “United Dog Association,” (laughter) so will there be peace? That is the position. I declared in Melbourne in a public meeting that this United Nation is the unity of barking dog. I told. It was published in the paper. They also criticized me, “The Swami has come to hound.” (laughter) But that is actually the fact …

The world situation is that you can speak truth if it is palatable. And if it is unpalatable, don’t speak. But this thing cannot be maintained when you are preaching spiritual life. There we cannot cheat. Spiritual life must be declared very frankly. Not that we have to declare; it is already declared. Kṛṣṇa says, dehino ‘smin yathā dehe kaumāraṁ yauvanam, tathā dehāntara-prāptiḥ (BG 2.13): The spirit soul is within this body. The body is different from the spirit soul, and as it is changing—the body is changing—similarly, after death, so-called death… Because spirit has no death, no birth. Na jāyate na mriyate vā. So this knowledge is the beginning of spiritual life. And if you are preaching, they are opposing us. India also opposing. This is our position …

They’re feeling the weight, the Western countries. They are opposing means that those who are thoughtful, they are thinking that “If this movement allowed to go on, then our civilization will be finished.” That is their… That… They are right. They are right. If these young men, they go on under my instruction, I shall finish their civilization.

Devotees: Jaya!

Prabhupada: That’s a fact. No meat-eating in Western countries. No intoxication. No illicit sex. No gambling. That means their life is finished.

(Srila Prabhupada Conversation, Bombay, January 3, 1977

Some conclusions-This business of  not speaking that which some devotees do not want to hear, is not spiritual life,as Srila Prabhupada tells us above. He is not just talking about the materialistic people, but to devotees as well.

scientific experts opinion on the poisoning of Srila Prabhupadas body

POSTING FROM TRUTH COMMITTEE RE: SRILA PRABHUPADA’S POISONING
(June 3, 2017) We are seeing some conversations and opinions online from those totally uninformed of the actual evidence that conclusively proves that Srila Prabhupada was poisoned with lethal amounts of cadmium from (at a minimum) February to November 1977. Highly accurate NAA tests on three of Srila Prabhupada’s hair samples that were provided by the GBC’s agents were found in 2002-2005 to have sky-high, unprecedented levels of cadmium, a deadly heavy metal that is virtually undetectable unless specifically tested for. Recent Facebook discussions were dominated by those who offered emotional and pseudo-logical dissertations on their faulty opinions and analyses of the evidence that they had forgotten to study or never seen. Several Facebook group administrators shut down all discussions on the subject, deleted posts, and shut out those who had sent in facts and figures to be considered. Admittedly, the subject is difficult to cope with and reactions will be strong. Many devotees have cognitive dissonance on this issue and cannot focus enough to actually look at the evidence which includes the recently disclosed cadmium hair tests.
Some say that Srila Prabhupada mentioned poison in reference to mustard seeds, or bad medicine, or years of toxic build-up in the body, but not about actual malicious poisoning. One who reads the Nov. 9-10, 1977 conversations will see otherwise, that Srila Prabhupada and all his caretakers WERE speaking about homicidal poisoning with rakshasas, murder, poisoned food, lawyers, poisoning cases, and even asking about who poisoned Srila Prabhupada.
Some also say that cadmium is everywhere, so what? Srila Prabhupada’s cadmium could have come from rice, Ayurvedic medicines, or anywhere. But they do not seem to understand that cadmium is found at different concentrations, at various levels from harmless to lethal. That is the key thing- how much cadmium? For example, yes, dust is everywhere, but in rare situations the dust can be lethal, as it was on Montserrat, a Caribbean island which experienced a sudden violent volcanic explosion in 1995 that caused the main town of Plymouth to be buried under several feet of dust and ash.
Similarly, an average normal person will have 0.065 ppm cadmium in their hair. Srila Prabhupada had about 250 times more than that, or an average of 15.75 ppm cadmium. This is a volcanic amount. Below we have one of our many expert opinions on the meaning of these levels. Please encourage everyone who will speak about the subject to be at least properly informed first.
