All glories to Srila Prabhupada
Below we have three things Prabhupada stresses.
1. A neophyte devotee cannot just sit in his or her home, chant
Hare Krsna and do nothing else. Otherwise, he or she will simply
be involved in more karmic activities coming from the
past contaminations of one’s mind. Every conditioned soul is forced to
continually act, and unless guided by guru- it usually wont be for
Krsna, which means more birth/death.
2. Ones mind is heavily infected from millions of past lifetimes of desire.
Those desires, unless purified will lead us to more births, but the bona
fide guru, Srila Prabhupada knows how to utilize our present conditioned
state and help us move towards liberation by going back to Godhead.
3. This Hare Krsna Movement is a preaching movement meant to
reclaim fallen souls in this kali yuga. So both deity worship and preaching
activities must go on in parallel lines, simultaneously. If we cannot do either,
then we must assist those who are doing these things and that way our
actions (Karma) will become purified.

Why? Because he knows that those who are neophytes, if they imitate the chanting, they simply waste their time. Therefore, he should be engaged in other activities because he has got the power at the present moment, karma… Karma means activities. This whole world is full of activities. Therefore this karma should be changed into bhakti, in devotional service. He…, one must be engaged in that… It appears like karma, but it is not karma. It is bhakti. Here also… Just like Krsna is doing something. That is not karma. That is transcendental. Similarly, a devotee in Krsna consciousness, for service of Krsna, if he is engaged which looks superficially as karma, that is not karma. That is bhakti. The sahajiyas,[devotees] they do not know it. They think that “We shall sit in a secluded place and chant, imitating Haridasa.” We have seen it. Their imitation is useless. They fall down. Therefore, they must be always engaged in some activities. Otherwise, he’ll be attracted by the modes of ignorance and passion. Etavatalam agha-nirharanaya. Agha
means the reaction of sinful activities. Every one of us, anyone who is in this material world, he is sinful. Without being sinful, nobody is here in this material world. If he’s not sinful, then he’ll be immediately transferred. Yesam anta-gatam papam jananam punya-karmanam. Immediately transferred to the spiritual world. He has… Just like a person who has finished his criminal punishment, immediately he is released from the prison. Similarly, a person who is freed from the resultant action of sinful activities, he immediately becomes liberated.
Those “other acitvities” Prabhupada mentions twice above, usually means Deity worship –
which is something practically everyone can do, regardless of his home situation.
And then after Deity worship is completed, if we are fortunate, we can utilize the rest
or most of the days hours somehow or other connecting our activity (karma) to Krsna’s service,
which Prabhupada calls as “bhakti”.

That is the effect of…, direct effect of bhakti-yoga, because the mind is now contaminated, and under the creation of senses and sense activities, we are making millions and trillions of ideas and become entangled in that idea. We have to accept millions and trillions of body and then go on in the cycle of birth, death, old age and disease. This is implication. So purify the mind. That is the chanting of Hare Krsna maha-mantra…. So it is the duty of guru to get out his disciple from the bhava-maha-davagni. Samsara-davanala-lidha-loka-tranaya karunya-ghanaghanatvam. Karunya, karunya.
731212mw.la Conversations 349517/530501 Prabhupada: The Deity worship program is meant for us to keep us safe. If we neglect Deity worship, we shall also fall.
But that is not the all duty finished. Arcayam eva haraye pujam yah sraddhayehate. Arca means Deity. If anyone is worshiping the Deity very nicely, but na tad-bhaktesu canyesu, but he does not know anything more, who is devotee, who is non-devotee, what is the duty to the world, sa bhaktah prakrtah smrtah, he is material devotee. He is material devotee. So we have to take the responsibility to understand who is actually a pure devotee and what is our duty to the people in general, and then you make advancement. Then you become madhyama-adhikari. Madhyama-adhikari, advanced devotee. Just like these people, either in India or here, they remain simply churchianity, going to the church[or temple] without any understanding. Therefore it is failing. It is now… Churches are being closed. Similarly, if you do not keep yourself fit to preach, then your temples will be all closed in due course of time. Without preaching, you’ll not feel enthused to continue the temple worship. And without temple worship, you cannot keep yourself pure and clean. The two things must go on, parallel. Then there is success.

750403mw.may Conversations Prabhupada: There are so many land. Come here and grow food. Grow fruit. That is the desire of Krsna. Annad bhavanti bhutani. Produce food and eat in sufficiently, be strong, and chant Hare Krsna. That is our philosophy. Why you are producing bolts and nuts, tire and tubes? Eat. Rascal. They do not know that first of all you must eat. No, everyone is engaged in industry. Why? Krsna does not say that “Take to industry.” Krsna says, “Produce foodstuff.” Annad bhavanti bhutani. If you produce foodstuff, then both your animals, yourself, will be happy, becoming strong.
