Transmigration of the soul explained by Srila Prabhupada

Srila Prabhupada explains transmigration of the soul and how we perceive it happening.

June 19 1974 Germany

Prabhupāda: Yes. What is transmigration? Transmigration means the first body you lose; you enter a second body, a third body, fourth. So your childhood body is not existing. Therefore you are in different body.

Satsvarūpa: Well, that example can be understood, but for the materialist, he doesn’t see how it applies to afterlife, one takes another body.

Prabhupāda: Why, why he does not?

Satsvarūpa: Because he can’t perceive. He can perceive that he has changed from child to old man, but he can’t perceive what is going to happen after death. So who knows?

Prabhupāda: But he cannot perceive that we, at night we change this body and go to another body when we dream? He cannot perceive? Your body, this body, is laid down on the bed, and you go away, and you are thinking that you are in Europe and America or in the sky or so many things. So what is that?

Satsvarūpa: Yes, while its happening he can’t perceive it.

Prabhupāda: But that is happening. He is seeing. He is a man. He is seeing. Why he cannot perceive? What is the difficulty? What is the answer, anyone?

Mādhavānanda: He is in illusion.

Prabhupāda: Illusion. You are seeing an illusion? Some tiger is coming. You are crying, “Save me, save me.” It is illusion. This body is also illusion. But you are affected. That means you are experiencing. How you can say that you are not perceiving? And when in dream you see your beloved or woman and man, there is no, nothing such thing, but still, there is discharge. Why? Why you are not perceiving? How you can say that you are not perceiving. It is perceiving. What is the answer? You are perceiving every night…

Satsvarūpa: Yes, in dreams.

meeting a pure devotee is no accident-must be sincere otherwise we will get cheated

Meeting a pure devotee is no accident-must be sincere, otherwise get cheated
Devotee: Srila Prabhupada, why has it taken so long for a pure devotee to come to the West? Has the West been so sinful that no pure devotee has come before Your Divine Grace?
Prabhupada: Don’t be sorry. At that time, you were so sinful that you could not receive a pure devotee.
Devotee: Yes. Once in a lecture a lady asked you why hadn’t you come sooner, and you just said, “Well, you weren’t ready for me.”
Prabhupada: Yes, “Because you were not ready.” Yes, I told. Yes. Now the Western boys, the descendant of the Western people, they are fortunate; therefore they receive Kṛṣṇa. Kona bhāgyavān jīva (CC Madhya 19.151). It is Kṛṣṇa’s desire that “These people are suffering so much; let some devotees come here.” So you are all devotees. You have come to join together.
(Srila Prabhupada Morning Walk, Los Angeles, December 7, 1973)
Devotee: If someone is actually sincere, can he be cheated, or will he always get a bona fide guru?
Prabhupada: No, if he is sincere, he’ll get.
Devotee: Bona fide.

Krsna-the Ocean of all Beauty

The following description is why the devotee performs austerity-to completely remember what we have forgotten- the Ocean of all beauty, our Source and the Original Soul Mate- Krsna !

The Vedic hymn which is known as Kamagayatri describes the Face of Krishna as the king of all moons. In metaphorical language there are many different moons, and they are all one in Krishna — the moon of the mouth, the moon of the cheeks, the moon-spots of sandalwood pulp, the beauty moon of the fingertips of His hand, and the tip of His toes — in this way there are twenty-four and a half moons, and Krishna is the central figure of all these different kinds of moons.

The dancing movement of Krishna’s earrings, eyes, and eyebrows are very attractive to the damsels of Vraja. Activities in devotional service increase the sense of devotional service. What else is there for two eyes to see beyond the face of Krishna? One cannot sufficiently see Krishna with only two eyes; and one feels incapable and thus becomes bereaved. Such bereavement is slightly reduced when one criticizes the creative power of the creator. The un satiated seer of the face of Krishna then laments as follows:

‘I do not have thousands of eyes; I have only two eyes and even these two eyes are disturbed by the movements of the eyelids. So it is to be understood that the creator of this body is not very intelligent. He is not conversant in the art of ecstasy. He is simply a prosaic creator. He does not know how to fix things in different positions for only seeing Krishna.’

The Gopi’s minds are always engaged in relishing the sweetness of Krishna’s Body. He is the Ocean of beauty, and His beautiful Face, His beautiful Smile, and the luster of His Body are always attractive to the Gopi’s mind. In the Krishna Karnamrita these three things have been described as sweet, sweeter, and sweetest. When there are three kinds of contamination in the constitutional body, it is called convulsion. So, similarly, a perfect devotee of Krishna attains a stage of convulsion when he is so overwhelmed by seeing the beauty of Krishna’s Body, His Face, and the beauty of Krishna’s Smile. This ocean of transcendental convulsion before Krishna’s beauty sometimes continues without any treatment, just as with ordinary convulsions a physician does not allow one to drink water for relief.

The devotee increasingly feels the absence of Krishna, because without Him one cannot drink the nectar of His beauty. When there is the transcendental sound of Krishna’s flute, the devotee’s anxiety to hear that flute penetrates the covering of this material world and enters into the Spiritual Sky, and the transcendental sound of the flute enters into the ears of the followers of the Gopis. The sound of Krishna’s flute always resides within the ear of the Gopis, and increases their ecstasy. At the time when it is heard no other sound can enter into the ear, and in their family activities they are not able to reply properly because all these beautiful sounds are vibrating.”  (Teachings of Lord Caitanya, Chapter 10)

Krsna tells us He is flower bearing spring

DSCN9117.JPG

Hare Krsna—Above is the outfit I put on Sri Sri Gaura and Nitai this morning, and as you can see, it is beautiful along with all the spring flowers we now have outside . Just having fresh flowers, Srila Prabhupada once told is real opulence. In this age practically nobody has any opulence on their property which is described in Vedic literature as cows, grains, milk products, vegetables, fruits, flowers, nuts and other essential things for human life like that. On the altar above today are forsythia, pansies,  hyacinths, andromeda, scilla, gloria of the snow, daffodils, quince, rhodadendron, bleeding hearts, vergenia, pulmonaria, hellabore, daphne, shall I list more?

Krsna tells us ” I am flower bearing spring”, and it definitely shows that this is yet another truth from Bhagavad Gita.

All Glories to Srila Prabhupada and Bhagavan Sri Krsna !!!

Only the materialist sees a difference between- heaven and hell

Hare Krsna-In the below one purport we find an immense wealth of useful information.First of all Srila Prabhupada tells us that for actual cent percent devotees, there is not need to fear  any place, even hellish places.
Secondly Srila Prabhupada tells us that in even heaven or hell there is no engagement in the Lords service-and yet many if not most pious people would like to go to  “heaven”. And why is that? Because there is no engagement in the Lords service but only immense sense enjoyment.
The third part Prabhupada explains that there is no difference  seen for a devotee between heaven and hell and what is seen as a difference is only the vision of materialistic people.
And lastly, Srila Prabhupada tells us that if we go on chanting Hare Krsna maha mantra we will never be unhappy.

Our Ever well wisher-Srila Prabhupada

compliments of the Prabhupada Connection–Our ever well Wisher, Srila Prabhupada

“Hṛda means heart, and su means good, good heart.  A devotee, a mahātmā, is good heart. How he is good heart? He sees everyone that ‘This living entity,’ especially human being, ‘he is engrossed in the clutches of māyā. He is suffering. Let me try to make him understand Kṛṣṇa consciousness, or his eternal relationship with Kṛṣṇa.’ He tries everywhere. That is his business. He doesn’t mind whether he is failure. Failure or success, he doesn’t mind. But he thinks, ‘Oh, this conditioned soul is suffering. Let me do something.’ Therefore Vaiṣṇava’s prayer is vāñchā-kalpa-tarubhyaś ca kṛpā-sindhubhya eva ca. A Vaiṣṇava, he is just like the ocean of mercy. He always feels for the sufferings of the humanity. That is their business. People think that they have taken relief from all social work. But a Vaiṣṇava is giving the best social service because he knows what is the cause of suffering, how people can be saved.

Some of the qualifications of a mukta Purusa-a Bona fide spiritual Master

Hare Krsna-below we have a few descriptions from The Srimad Bhagavatam, Bhagavad Gita and lectures, of the actual characteristics of a mukta purusa, or liberated person-and only this type of person is  liberated from the material energy, known as maya. As you can see, these qualifications are enormous and only a fraction of the qualities of a pure devotee of the Lord. When someone presents himself as a mukta purusa, we should know and test to see if he has these qualities-otherwise as we all know it is Kali yuga, the age of hyprocrisy.

SB 6.4.26 Translation-When one’s consciousness is completely purified of the contamination of material existence, gross and subtle, without being agitated as in the working and dreaming states, and when the mind is not dissolved as in suṣupti, deep sleep, one comes to the platform of trance. Then one’s material vision and the memories of the mind, which manifests names and forms, are vanquished. Only in such a trance is the Supreme Personality of Godhead revealed. Thus let us offer our respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is seen in that uncontaminated, transcendental state.

conditioned souls consider property for which they are in debt, to be their own

“For a materialistic person, material wealth and opulence are only illusory. Actually they are not possessions but entanglements because by enjoying the material world a conditioned soul becomes more and more entangled by incurring debts for his present enjoyment. Unfortunately, a conditioned soul considers property for which he is in debt to be his own, and he is very busy acquiring such property. But a devotee considers such property not real property but simply an entanglement in the material world.
