Today I cooked for 6 or more hours. For a pro it would have taken at lot less but this was my first home Radastami. The subji was Vrndavana style vegetable stew from one of Kurma Dasa's cook books as well as the rice dish with garden green beans and toasted cashews. Both of these preparations turned out with a truely professionaly character in both colour and taste.
I was very impressed. The halavah was blueberry with organic berries from Nova Scotia. The organic farina is very delicate and it touched the heat just a fraction too long but the ever so slight scorching does not leave any after or for taste but a hint of campfire in the fall. :) The flavour is excellent. My wife Lila made a simple one layer cake with whipped cream topping. The spongy mass was perfect with the organic pineapple nectar. Next was the simple mouth watering fruit salad composed of plums, mango, blue berries, raisons and peaches. The chipatis were made from white non bleached flour and had a crispy texture but didn't puff up enough as I hadn't kneeded the dough long enough. Saving the best for last was the sweet rice. Vanilla sweet rice with scattered fat plump raisons chilled to perfection in our stand up freezer. Like finding the glittering prize in your favourite cereal box I can't wait to locate the swollen vanilla bean like I used to when I was a brahmacari. Dressed in  my 'Sunday go to meetin' clothes with full tilak, Domagosh Prabhu did the arotika live from Janmastmi Sept. 4  2007. By 8 pm I decided to partake of this glorious prasadam supplied by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada and Sri Sri Radha Ksircora Gopinatha...Ki Jai!!!!!!
Now I am going to get ready to take rest after I do some traditional clean up right here at New Remuna Scarborough. All glories to Srila Prabhupada
