Caitanya Mahaprabhu said: “Even in the poetic compositions of such great poets as Bhavabhuti, Jayadeva and Kalidasa there are many examples of faults. Such mistakes should be considered negligible. One should see only how such poets have displayed their poetic power.” (Caitanya Caritamrta, Adi-Lila, 101-102) Prabhupada’s purport to text 102: In Srimad-Bhagavatam (1.5.11) it is said: tad-vag-visargo janatagha-viplavo yasmin prati-slokam abaddhavaty api namany anantasya yaso ‘nkitani yat srnvanti gayanti grnanti sadhavah “In explaining the glories of the Lord, inexperienced men may compose poetry with many faults, but because it contains glorification of the Lord, great personalities read it, hear it and chant it.” Despite its minute literary discrepancies, one must study poetry on the merit of its subject matter. According to Vaisnava philosophy, any literature that glorifies the Lord, whether properly written or not, is first class. There need be no other considerations. Continue reading |
BBTI makes extreme changes to Perfect Questions, Perfect Answers
BY MADHUDVISA DASA ON AUGUST 29, 1999 10:14 AM ISKCON published a new version of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada’s book, Perfect Questions, Perfect Answers in 1993. It is a transcript of a conversation which took place in Mayapur, West Bengal, in 1972 with a Peace-Corps worker, Bob Cohen. Please read these changes completely as they give a very good insight into the types of things ISKCON and the BBT are deleting from Srila Prabhupada’s books. They have their own agenda and they want to change the philosophy that is presented in Srila Prabhupada’s books and by carefully studying the changes they are making you can gradually understand their demoniac agenda…. The original edition was more or less a transcript of the original conversation. It was edited, of course, to make the English clear and correct and to make it readable. But basically it remained a transcript of the original conversation. Continue reading |
HENCEFORWARD shall the “Rtvik Representative Of The Acharya” initiate on Srila Prabhupada’s behalf.
“Temple Presidents may HENCEFORWARD send recommendation for first and
second initiation to whichever of these eleven representatives are nearest their temple.
After considering the recommendation, these representatives may accept the devotee
as an initiated disciple of Srila Prabhupada by giving a spiritual name, or in the case
of second initiation, by chanting on the Gayatri thread, just as Srila Prabhupada has done.”
The following is an article, I have wanted to include for some time now, which was written by Krsnacandra Prabhu and posted on his page Prabhupadvision.com. In light of our recent post entitledSri Madhu Pandit’s Official Reply to the EC we feel it is timely, and of utmost importance to our society that we understand the issues. Although our page is not intended as a political forum, it is a tool in the mission of our spiritual master, for the propagation of The Hare Krishna Movement or Krishna Consciousness. Albizia Apa-Sampradayas?
By Narasimha das
People here on the Big Island of Hawaii are very much afraid of trees called albizia, which is an aggressive invasive species from the Amazon. Some people think they harbor ghosts. These trees grow very fast and choke out native trees and vegetation. These trees look nice but are dangerous because they are self-pruning. No one who knows about these trees will build near them or even park their cars in their shade. Our land here backs up to a segment of the Nanawale Forest Reserve, which is overrun with these trees. Every few days we hear a loud crackling sound like rapid gunfire followed by a loud series of crashes, as one of these trees drops another bus-sized branch, crushing everything underneath. Accidental Liberation
By Narasimha das
Today I was reading in Bhagavad-gita Chapter Eight about accidental liberation. In verses 23 through 27, Lord Krishna is telling Arjuna about the auspicious and inauspicious times for leaving one’s body. A perfect yogi who is aware of the auspicious times can leave his body at will, at an opportune moment. In this way his liberation is assured. Those who are not perfect may also achieve liberation if by accident they die at an auspicious moment.
“Those who know the Supreme Brahman attain the Supreme by passing away from this world during the influence of the fiery god, in the light, at an auspicious moment of the day, during the fortnight of the waxing moon, or during the six months when the sun travels in the North.” (Bg. 8.24)
Srila Prabhupada mentions in his purport to this verse that if by accident, an imperfect devotee or yogi dies at an auspicious moment, he also attains liberation from the cycle of birth and death by attaining the Supreme Brahman. “Mystics who are advanced in yoga practice can arrange the time and place to leave the body. Others have no control—if by accident they leave at an auspicious moment, then they will not have to return to the cycle of birth and death, but otherwise there is every possibility they will have to return.” (Bg. 8.24, Purport) Continue reading
Srila Prabhupada never appointed acharyas
By:
Yashodanandana Dasa
Srila Prabhupada explained that his Guru Maharaja never appointed anybody as acharya.
“…They wanted to create artificially somebody acharya,”…
Note: 1) The ISKCON GBC artificially created 11 acharyas in March of 1978.
2) If Srila Prabhupada wanted to appoint 11 acharyas [diksha-gurus] for ISKCON, why did he not directly say?
“He said so many things, and this point He missed? The real point?”
Note: Similarly Srila Prabhupada said so many things in the last few months of 1977, and the real point He missed?
“…and they insist upon it. They declared some unfit person to become…” Continue reading

Uttama-adhikaris or Uttama-aparadhis? – Part 3 -of- 4
By Yasoda nandana dasa and the Prabhupada anugas
THE DEMONS SIMPLY ARGUE AND LABEL ALL THESE HISTORICAL INCIDENTS MYTHOLOGY.
Since He is floating innumerable planets with many hundreds and thousands of MandaraMountains, why can’t He lift one of them with His hand? This is not mythology, but the difference between the believers and the faithless is that the devotees accept the incidents mentioned in the Vedic literatures to be true, whereas the demons simply argue and label all these historical incidents mythology. Demons would prefer to explain that everything happening in the cosmic manifestation takes place by chance, but demigods, or devotees, never consider anything to be chance. Rather, they know that everything is an arrangement of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. That is the difference between the demigods and the demons… Srimad-Bhagavatam 8.6.38 Continue reading

Sri Purandar Das and Pandit Purandar
Are They the Same?
By Narasimha das
The great devotee Srila Pandit Purandar is mentioned in Sri Caitanya-caritamrita. He is an important devotee of Lord Nityananda. In another place in Caitanya-caritamrita, Acarya Purandara is mentioned as the ninth branch of the tree of Lord Caitanya’s disciplic succession of liberated acaryas. These two Purandar’s are likely not the same person. It may well be, however, that Pandit Purandar is the same as Sri Purandar Das of Kishkindhya fame.
Sri Caitanya-caritamrta (Adi Lila, Chapter Eleven, Verse 28) mentions Pandit Purandar as an important devotee of Lord Nityananda.
“The thirteenth important devotee of Sri Nityananda Prabhu was Pandita Purandara, who moved in the ocean of love of Godhead just like the Mandara Hill.”
In his purport to this verse, Srila Prabhupada comments:
“Pandita Purandara met Sri Nityananda Prabhu at Khadadaha. Continue reading
