There is no “better position” in this material world

Aug 22 1973 London
..We are trying to get better life. Here also, in this life also, we are struggling hard for getting better position. So real better position we do not know. That is described in the Bhagavad-gītā: saḥ amṛtatvāya kalpate. Here in this material world there is no better position because there is death. You may possess a very good better position, but you’ll have to give it up. Either the better position will give up you, or ultimately you have to give up that better position. You cannot stay. Suppose you have earned millions of dollars, millions of pounds: “Now we have got good bank balance.” You think, “Now I am in the better position.” A little dysentery, or cholera, dysentery—finished, better position. Or the bank fails—that better position gone. So there is no better position in this material world. It is a false. Therefore those who are trying to get better position in this material world, they are simply becoming defeated, because there is no better position. He’s a rascal. He’s thinking this is better position.
What is better position? Then Bhagavad-gītā says the better position is amṛtatva. Saḥ amṛtatvāya kalpate: “Don’t die. Keep your position firm.” That is better position. So is there any science to give knowledge how one becomes immortal? Yes, there is. You can become immortal. Not in this material science; not in the so-called universities. But there is knowledge in the Vedic scripture by which you can become immortal. That is better position. No more death, no more birth, no more old age, no more disease. So guru’s task is very great responsibility. He has to guide the disciple how to make him quite eligible candidate to get the perfect position, immortality, back to home, back to Godhead.
Thank you very much. (end)
——————————————————
Here is one aspect of the “better position”-eating only Krsna Prasadam every day, otherwise every mouthful is sinful reactions.
BG 3.13–The devotees of the Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food which is offered first for sacrifice. Others, who prepare food for personal sense enjoyment, verily eat only sin.

How can you say there is no “brain” behind all this material world?-SP

Srila Prabhupada….” Can you give us any solitary example that any wonderful thing has happened without a brain behind it? You cannot say. You cannot give even a single example within your experience. How we can say that this material nature, such wonderful things, manifestation… Thousands and millions of planets, they are floating in weightlessness in the air. There is no brain behind it? You throw one mechanical sputnik, and there are thousands of scientists working in the laboratory, electronics. They are pushing on the button, and everything is recorded. A plaything only. That sputnik is a plaything.

If for such a plaything so many scientists, so many brain, are working, do you think such wonderful things are happening without any brain? This is called foolishness. Foolish people will say that they are taking (place) automatically. No. They are not taking place automatically.”

Cleaning our hearts is like cleaning Lord Krsna’s Temple

Cleaning our hearts is like cleaning Lord Krsna’s Temple

Madhya 12.135-Translation–
Outside the gateway of the temple, all the roads were also cleansed, and no one could tell exactly how this was done.
PURPORT
In commenting on the cleansing of the Guṇḍicā temple, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura says thatŚrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, as the world leader, was personally giving instructions on how one should receive Lord Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, within one’s cleansed and pacified heart. If one wants to see Kṛṣṇa seated in his heart, he must first cleanse the heart, as prescribed by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu in His Śikṣāṣṭaka: ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam. In this age, everyone’s heart is especially unclean, as confirmed in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam: hṛdy antaḥ-stho hy abhadrāṇi. To wash away all dirty things accumulated within the heart, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu advised everyone to chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra. The first result will be that the heart is cleansed (ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam).

Comment–To chant Hare Krsna mantra, especially for us neophytes, is something that is done mostly out of duty or understanding that it should be done, not because of some immense ruci,(taste) or asakti (detachment) or nistha (firm unbroken faith) Later, maybe years later, for those who stick with it, we do get all these things, and are pulled naturally towards the Supreme Lord due to our natural attraction for Him, and due to our detachment from matter. Below Srila Prabhupada very clearly gives us some pitfalls or warnings to expect along that way. These are very real and we should take notice because we see today devotees doing exactly what Srila Prabhupada tells us not to do….
DSCN8637.JPG

…Similarly, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (1.2.17) confirms this statement:
śṛṇvatāṁ sva-kathāḥ kṛṣṇaḥ
puṇya-śravaṇa-kīrtanaḥ
hṛdy antaḥ-stho hy abhadrāṇi
vidhunoti suhṛt satām
“Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Personality of Godhead, who is the Paramātmā [Supersoul] in everyone’s heart and the benefactor of the truthful devotee, cleanses desire for material enjoyment from the heart of the devotee who relishes His messages, which are in themselves virtuous when properly heard and chanted.”
If a devotee at all wants to cleanse his heart, he must chant and hear the glories of the Lord, Śrī Kṛṣṇa (śṛṇvatāṁ sva-kathāḥ kṛṣṇaḥ). This is a simple process. Kṛṣṇa Himself will help cleanse the heart because He is already seated there. Kṛṣṇa wants to continue living within the heart, and the Lord wants to give directions, but one has to keep his heart as clean as Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu kept the Guṇḍicā temple. The devotee therefore has to cleanse his heart just as the Lord cleansed the Guṇḍicā temple.

Comment-So what is this process to continually cleanse the heart? It is constant and regular hearing and chanting Hare Krsna mantra and reading Srimad Bhagavatam or Bhagavag Gita, or both. If we are actually serious about seeing the Lord in the heart, then we have to take the exact medicine given by the physician Srila Prabhupada.

The world situation is- you can speak the truth-if it is palatable-SP

Prabhupada: Just see the world situation. Everyone is busy on the concept of body. So what is the position of the world? Apaṇḍita, ignorance. And such people are going on as learned scholars, politicians and leaders and so on. So how there can be peace? If you bring different types of dogs—greyhound and bulldog and Indian dog—and bring them, the “United Dog Association,” (laughter) so will there be peace? That is the position. I declared in Melbourne in a public meeting that this United Nation is the unity of barking dog. I told. It was published in the paper. They also criticized me, “The Swami has come to hound.” (laughter) But that is actually the fact …

The world situation is that you can speak truth if it is palatable. And if it is unpalatable, don’t speak. But this thing cannot be maintained when you are preaching spiritual life. There we cannot cheat. Spiritual life must be declared very frankly. Not that we have to declare; it is already declared. Kṛṣṇa says, dehino ‘smin yathā dehe kaumāraṁ yauvanam, tathā dehāntara-prāptiḥ (BG 2.13): The spirit soul is within this body. The body is different from the spirit soul, and as it is changing—the body is changing—similarly, after death, so-called death… Because spirit has no death, no birth. Na jāyate na mriyate vā. So this knowledge is the beginning of spiritual life. And if you are preaching, they are opposing us. India also opposing. This is our position …

They’re feeling the weight, the Western countries. They are opposing means that those who are thoughtful, they are thinking that “If this movement allowed to go on, then our civilization will be finished.” That is their… That… They are right. They are right. If these young men, they go on under my instruction, I shall finish their civilization.

Devotees: Jaya!

Prabhupada: That’s a fact. No meat-eating in Western countries. No intoxication. No illicit sex. No gambling. That means their life is finished.

(Srila Prabhupada Conversation, Bombay, January 3, 1977

Some conclusions-This business of  not speaking that which some devotees do not want to hear, is not spiritual life,as Srila Prabhupada tells us above. He is not just talking about the materialistic people, but to devotees as well.

scientific experts opinion on the poisoning of Srila Prabhupadas body

POSTING FROM TRUTH COMMITTEE RE: SRILA PRABHUPADA’S POISONING
(June 3, 2017) We are seeing some conversations and opinions online from those totally uninformed of the actual evidence that conclusively proves that Srila Prabhupada was poisoned with lethal amounts of cadmium from (at a minimum) February to November 1977. Highly accurate NAA tests on three of Srila Prabhupada’s hair samples that were provided by the GBC’s agents were found in 2002-2005 to have sky-high, unprecedented levels of cadmium, a deadly heavy metal that is virtually undetectable unless specifically tested for. Recent Facebook discussions were dominated by those who offered emotional and pseudo-logical dissertations on their faulty opinions and analyses of the evidence that they had forgotten to study or never seen. Several Facebook group administrators shut down all discussions on the subject, deleted posts, and shut out those who had sent in facts and figures to be considered. Admittedly, the subject is difficult to cope with and reactions will be strong. Many devotees have cognitive dissonance on this issue and cannot focus enough to actually look at the evidence which includes the recently disclosed cadmium hair tests.
Some say that Srila Prabhupada mentioned poison in reference to mustard seeds, or bad medicine, or years of toxic build-up in the body, but not about actual malicious poisoning. One who reads the Nov. 9-10, 1977 conversations will see otherwise, that Srila Prabhupada and all his caretakers WERE speaking about homicidal poisoning with rakshasas, murder, poisoned food, lawyers, poisoning cases, and even asking about who poisoned Srila Prabhupada.
Some also say that cadmium is everywhere, so what? Srila Prabhupada’s cadmium could have come from rice, Ayurvedic medicines, or anywhere. But they do not seem to understand that cadmium is found at different concentrations, at various levels from harmless to lethal. That is the key thing- how much cadmium? For example, yes, dust is everywhere, but in rare situations the dust can be lethal, as it was on Montserrat, a Caribbean island which experienced a sudden violent volcanic explosion in 1995 that caused the main town of Plymouth to be buried under several feet of dust and ash.
Similarly, an average normal person will have 0.065 ppm cadmium in their hair. Srila Prabhupada had about 250 times more than that, or an average of 15.75 ppm cadmium. This is a volcanic amount. Below we have one of our many expert opinions on the meaning of these levels. Please encourage everyone who will speak about the subject to be at least properly informed first.

Chanting and Preaching is the movement of Caitanya Mahaprabhu

CHANTING AND PREACHING IS THE MOVEMENT OF CAITANYA MAHAPRABU

1.)Sept 16 1976
Pṛthivīte āche yata nagarādi. That is His (Lord Caitanya’s) mission. It is not that “Become a big Vaiṣṇava and sit down and imitate.” This is all rascaldom. So don’t follow this thing. So at least we cannot advise you in that way. We have learned from our Guru Mahārāja that preaching is very, very important thing, and when one is actually an experienced preacher, then he is able to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra without any offense. Before that, this so-called chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, you may practice without any offenses…And giving up all other business to make a show of a big Vaiṣṇava, that is not required. Thank you very much. (end)

2.)Madhya 12.135 purport-
The word jīva–hiṁsā (envy of other living entities) actually means stopping the preaching of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Preaching work is described as paropakāra, welfare activity for others. Those who are ignorant of the benefits of devotional service must be educated by preaching. If one stops preaching and simply sits down in a solitary place, he is engaging in material activity.

Answers to poisoning objections by Nityananda das

TRANSCRIPT FOR VIDEO TWO: COMMON OBJECTIONS TO THE “POISON THEORY”

Those who cannot understand or accept the evidence and scientific proof that Srila Prabhupada was actually maliciously poisoned with lethal amounts of cadmium, a heavy metal worse than arsenic, at levels about 250 times above the average normal person, often raise various objections to what is called the “poison theory.” Of course, it is no longer a theory, but an established fact. Those who are honest and who look at the evidence will agree with this, while those who have compromised honesty will come up with defective objections as to why it just can’t be true. Admittedly, it is difficult to appreciate the mountain of poisoning evidence if one is, either:
(1). Influenced or dependent in some way upon ISKCON or its leaders and gurus, all who strenuously deny the poisoning, have covered it up, and prohibit even discussion on the subject. Institutional pressures condition the way its members think, and independent thinking is almost impossible in these conditions.
(2). Someone may be unable to bear the emotional pain, shock, and ramifications that Srila Prabhupada, our beloved eternal spiritual master, was actually poisoned right under our noses while we suspected nothing.
And there may be other reasons also. But the evidence speaks for itself. It is not a theory concocted by troubled ex-devotees. So let’s do a quick review of the evidence:
(1). Five top-notch audio forensic laboratories have scientifically certified low volume speech by caretakers on tape recordings made in late ‘77 to be about poisoning Srila Prabhupada.
(2). On November 9 and 10, ‘77, Srila Prabhupada and his caretakers openly discussed at length the subject of Srila Prabhupada being poisoned homicidally. The talks were about deadly poisons, rakshasa demons, case histories, mercury, murder, lawyers, restricting who cooked for Srila Prabhupada, and the following statements:
Srila Prabhupada said three times. “Someone has poisoned me.”
Bhakticharu: Oh, okay, he thinks that someone, someone gave him poison here.
Bhakticharu: He was referring to a case, a big murder case in Calcutta, the husband poisoned the wife.
Tamal: Prabhupada was thinking that someone had poisoned him?
Tamal: Srila Prabhupada, Shastriji says that there must be some truth to it if you say that. So who is it that has poisoned?
The problem is not so much that people disagree with the evidence. It is much more that they do not know what it is, and have not read the transcriptions of these 1977 conversations. If they did, there would be 98% less doubts and questions. These transcripts will be found in our upcoming report on Srila Prabhupada’s poisoning.
(3). ISKCON’s dishonest smoke and mirrors whitewash and cover up of the evidence, involving fraud, lies, deceit, trickery, and character assassination, shows that it is very afraid of the poisoning evidence. We should ask why that is…

why hair samples for cadmium poisoning are valid as evidence

CHAPTER 47:

HAIR ANALYSIS: VALIDITY & ACCURACY

INTRODUCTION

Not That I Am Poisoned, Chapter 1, has tried to discredit the science of hair analysis altogether with this statement:

“Hair analysis for arsenic is a very unreliable indicator of serum arsenic levels when a specific individual is tested without a range of reference values from a group of the same time and place for comparison. This unreliability is even more marked when a small amount of hair sample is tested.”

At first look this statement sounds righteous, scientific, and profound, causing readers to think that hair testing for metals and poisons is very unreliable. However, these words are highly misleading and we will see that it makes no sense at all. Also NTIAP needs to diffentiate between serum (blood) and hair.

One should not be misled that individual hair analysis is unreliable. Group studies are required to establish norms and to understand variances due to local factors of pollution, occupation, and so on. But to compare an individual (such as Srila Prabhupada) to the average normal values found in various unexposed groups IS in fact a valid and reliable, scientifically accepted method of determining abnormal exposure or poisoning.

HAIR ANALYSIS IS A RELIABLE INDICATOR

(1). The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) published an authoritative study in 1979 in which more han 400 reports on hair testing were reviewed. The authors concluded that hair is a “meaningful and representative tissue for biological monitoring of most of the toxic metals.”

(2). The Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratories states: “There are numerous papers on the accuracy and efficacy of hair testing, particularly for toxic metals such as mercury. For more than 30 years, the significance of measuring element concentrations in scalp hair, blood, and urine has been studied.”

(3). A 1986 study by V Bencko, T Geist, et al called “Biological monitoring of environmental pollution and human exposure to some trace elements” states:

“In addition to analyses of plant and animal specimens, the element content of human hair as an indicator of exposures to arsenic, mercury, cadmium, lead, antimony, manganese, nickel and cobalt has been repeatedly confirmed as reliable, provided the analyses were carried out and evaluated on group diagnostic basis and were done in groups of individuals occupationally not exposed to these metals.”

(4). From Nutri-Test Analytical in Edmonton, we read: “Blood, urine and hair are the most accessible tissues in which to measure elements in our body, and they are sometimes referred to as indicator tissues. Blood and urine concentrations usually reflect recent exposure and correlate best with acute effects. Hair is useful in assessing variations in exposure to metals over the long term. It is a useful tool for… diagnosis of heavy metal exposure…”

(5). A 1980 study by JS Lee and KL White called “A review of the health effects of cadmium” found that “hair values correlate well with exposure” to cadmium, whereas blood values did not.

(6). A 1979 study published by the EPA by DW Jenkins called “Toxic metals in mammalian hair and nails” found that “hair analysis, when properly performed, is a reliable measure of tissue levels of cadmium.”

(7). A 1973 study by RW Thatcher et al called “Effects of low levels of cadmium and lead, etc” found that “hair analysis is superior to blood in reflecting long term cadmium exposure.”

(8). WIKIPEDIA: Arsenic poisoning: (2015) “Tests on hair and fingernails can measure exposure to high levels of arsenic over the past 6–12 months. These tests can determine if one has been exposed to above-average levels of arsenic… Hair is a potential bio-indicator for arsenic exposure due to its ability to store trace elements from blood. Incorporated elements maintain their position during growth of hair.”

CONCLUSION:

Hair analysis is not a very reliable indicator of total body burden, in other words, it does not directly correlate to the exact state of contamination in the body beyond the hair itself. But hair levels do give excellent relative indicators of abnormal contaminations that the body has been exposed to. In other words, the muscle, fat, organs, blood, and urine levels of any element may not be indicated by hair tests. But hair tests do show the presence of elements in the body that are compared to known normal levels in human society. Thus it is an excellent indicator of cadmium poisoning although it may not show much about the total body burden of cadmium or the state of health of internal organs.

ARE HAIR TESTS BY DR. STEVE MORRIS ACCURATE OR NOT?

how much toxic cadmium was in the hair samples of Srila Prabhupada?

75 41027SB.MAY Lectures

Suppose if I am here and somebody kills me, and if you do not protest, is it a very good business? People will be surprised that “So many disciples are there, and this man is being killed, and nobody do anything?”

Lectures : Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.3.28 — Los Angeles, October 3, 1972 : 721003SB.LA :

“There are many instances. Just like Prahlāda Mahārāja, you can see. Prahlāda Mahārāja is standing, and his father is being killed before him. This is sinful. Can you tolerate? Suppose if somebody comes to kill me, and you will see and laugh? You’ll do, will you do that? Why? That is sinful. So here Prahlāda Mahārāja is seeing. It is not protesting. Prahlāda Mahārāja is not protesting, “Why you are killing my father?” No. He’s seeing. So why Prahlāda Mahārāja is worshiped? Why he has become a mahājana, authority? You can say, “Oh, he’s a most sinful. He has seen in his presence, his father is being killed, and he did not protest.” You can say so. But because it is in connection with Kṛṣṇa, Prahlāda Mahārāja is the most exalted devotee. He’s not sinful.”

Prabhupada: People are so intelligent that when the representative of Krishna speaks, they (indistinct) enemies, and sometimes they crucify, kill. So, people are so kind that they are not killing. Otherwise, why Christ, (?) was killed? What fault? What is his fault? Just see. Was there any fault in his words? He advised, “Don’t kill,” and he was crucified. We have to deal with such rascals. I may be representative, but he is directly son of God. People are so rascal that they did not believe even the son of God, what to speak of His representative. What is that? Why Jesus Christ was killed? What was his fault? For ordinary people, it is hard to understand, but here the Bhagwatam explains envy again: “When a person is very great and famous, many unscrupulous persons become his enemies, for envy is the nature of materialists.”
