Whoever sees Krsna, sees a Festival–SP

“Krishna’s face is decorated with ornaments, such as earrings resembling sharks. His ears are beautiful, His cheeks brilliant, and His smiling attractive to everyone. Whoever sees Lord Krishna sees a festival. His face and body are fully satisfying for everyone to see, but the devotees are angry at the creator for the disturbance caused by the momentary blinking of their eyes.”  (Srimad-Bhagavatam 9.24.65)

“My dear friend, if you still have any desire to enjoy the company of your friends within this material world, then don’t look upon the form of Krishna, who is standing on the bank of Keshi-ghata. He is known as Govinda, and His eyes are very enchanting. He is playing upon His flute, and on His head there is a peacock feather. His whole body is illuminated by the moonlight in the sky.”  (Nectar of Devotion, Chapter 13)

If one has no master he keeps a dog to serve

Nov 29 1972 Hyderabad
And when Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu was present on this planet, He collected the copy of this book from South India, Ādi-Keśava Mandira, and presented it to His devotees, that “This is authorized book.” There were hundred chapters of this book. Unfortunately, they’re missing. This is only the Fifth Chapter. But it contains the essence of theology. So in that book, Brahma-saṁhitā, the beginning is: īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ sac-cid-ānanda-vigrahaḥ anādir ādir govindaḥ sarva-kāraṇa-kāraṇam [Bs. 5.1]
…Because every one of us, in this material condition, we are trying to become master, ultimately to become God. That is māyā. That is illusion. We cannot become master. We are servant by constitution. Every one of us sitting here is a servant to somebody. Nobody can deny it. Either he may be servant of his family or his community or his country or… So many things… If one has no master, then he keeps a dog to become his servant. That is the nature. We are all servants. The, our thinking that “I shall become master,” that is māyā.
Image result for dog pictures licking face                         Image result for dog pictures licking face
Only an insane person considers these pictures nice since according to Vedic civilized society dog is– Untouchable !!! Where was that dog tongue – just a few moments ago?Just see the degradation today where in the USA there are more dogs and cats than children !!

father-son relationship cant be lost-only when the son becomes crazy

Jan 19 1969 LA

…There is a very nice verse in Caitanya-caritāmṛta:anādi bahir-mukha jīva kṛṣṇa bhuli gelā ataeva kṛṣṇa veda purāṇa karilā…
We do not know when we have forgotten God, when we have missed our relationship with God. We are eternally related with God. We are still related. Our relationship is not lost. Just like the father and the son, the relationship cannot be lost, but when the son becomes crazy or mad, he thinks that he has no father. That is a conditional… But actually the relationship is not lost. When he comes to the consciousness, “Oh, I am the son of such and such gentleman,” the relationship is immediately there.
Similarly, our consciousness, this material consciousness, is a condition of craziness.

Going to Doctors can be dangerous to your health

Going to Doctors can be dangerous to your health !

Feb 17 1971 Gorakhpur India
Prabhupāda: …my Guru Mahārāja was in his last days, these rascal doctors injected… Our, this Kuñjabihārī, Tīrtha Mahārāja brought so many big, big doctors. And he protested, “Why are you giving me injection?” He protested. He personally said, “Why are you giving me injection?” And if you bring a doctor, the rascals will not stop. “Oh, that is our treatment. We must try our best.” They will plead like that. “To give more trouble to the patient, that is our business.” Inventing new medicines means inventing new means of giving trouble. That’s all. As soon as you ask them whether by injection the life is guaranteed, they will say, “No. There is no guarantee. Let us try, make experiment.” Yes. In hospital, as soon as you get (microphone moving)… Whatever nonsense knowledge they have got, they make experiment, at the risk of other’s life.
Haṁsadūta: When Himāvatī broke her leg they wanted to operate. I said, “Oh, no, no chance. No operation.” Then they immediately said, “Then maybe she’ll never walk again.”
Prabhupāda: Just see.
Haṁsadūta: So I said, “Well, how can we tell?” They said, “Well, there’s no way to tell.” I said, “Suppose we operate. Then it’s guaranteed that everything will be all right?” They said, “No.” But they thought they should do that.
Prabhupāda: Yes. They canvass, they convince like that and make experiment. That is their business. They have no, I mean to say, assured idea. Simply experiment. All these hospitals, they are meant for making experiment. I think I have told you one story of my servant. Did I? Huh?
Haṁsadūta: No. Please tell us the story. (laughter)

Lord Nityananda-The Transcendental Trouble Maker

Madhya 3.96–When the rice thrown by Nityānanda Prabhu touched His body, Advaita Ācārya thought Himself purified by the touch of remnants thrown by Paramahaṁsa Nityānanda. Therefore He began dancing.
PURPORT–
The word avadhūta refers to one above all rules and regulations. Sometimes, not observing all the rules and regulations of a sannyāsī, Nityānanda Prabhu exhibited the behavior of a mad avadhūta. He threw the remnants of food on the ground, and some of these remnants touched the body of Advaita Ācārya. Advaita Ācārya accepted this happily because He presented Himself as a member of the community of smārta-brāhmaṇas. By touching the remnants of food thrown by NityānandaPrabhu, Advaita Ācārya immediately felt Himself purified of all smārta contamination. The remnants of food left by a pure Vaiṣṇava are called mahā-mahā-prasāda. This is completely spiritual and is identified with Lord Viṣṇu. Such remnants are not ordinary. The spiritual master is to be considered on the stage of paramahaṁsa and beyond the jurisdiction of the varṇāśrama institution. The remnants of food left by the spiritual master and similar paramahaṁsas or pure Vaiṣṇavas are purifying. When an ordinary person touches such prasāda, his mind is purified, and his mind is raised to the status of a pure brāhmaṇa. The behavior and statements of Advaita Ācārya are meant for the understanding of ordinary people who are unaware of the strength of spiritual values, not knowing the potency of food left by the bona fide spiritual master and pure Vaiṣṇavas.

Formalities

Mahesh Raja: Formalities

14. July 2017 by Prabhupada News
(by Mahesh Raja)

 — The formalities may be slightly changed here and there to make them Vaisnavas.
In his recent article, “Ravindra Svarupa’s Role in the Guru Reform Movement“, Rocana Prabhu wrote:
“It’s a fact, as Kurma dasa writes, that this system of voted-in gurus is nonsense. Of course, Kurma prabhu is trying to make out that Srila Prabhupada’s original program, which he thinks is synonymous with the current Rtvik system, should be put in place now. That’s where he and I have a different understanding. I don’t think you can introduce a system that has no verification in sastra.”
Since many of us support the July 9th 1977 ORDER of Ritvik System that Srila Prabhupada himself set-up AND NEVER RECINDED, I wish to respond to the above.

The Ritvik System is just FORMALITIES, so as per Srila Prabhupada’s instructions: “The formalities may be slightly changed here and there to make them Vaisnavas.”
It is being misconstrued as “introduce a new system”, BUT–FACTUALLY–it is ONLY FORMALITIES.
Lets study the following in terms of FORMALITIES:

Collected Teachings Book Summary-Vol #5

Hare Krsna to all–

Below we have a few tidbits of nectar from the collected teachings book of Srila Prabhupada, Vol #5 which is sure to enliven any sincere and serious devotee of Lord Krsna.
———————————————–

1.Why maya is so strong if our purpose is to be with Krsna.

2.Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu found in S. India temple only the fifth chapter of the Brahma Samhita, which originally had  100 chapters.

3.If one has no master, he will keep a dog and become- his servant.

4.Don’t reject anything material if can be used in Lords service.

5.One who keeps himself  confined by boundaries of limited space-body consciousness, family consciousness,
community consciousness, even universal consciousness-he or she can never understand Krsna Consciousness.

6.We cant fix our minds upon the Lotus Feet of Krsna unless we get the dust of the Lotus Feet of a nisckincana pure devotee of the Lord.

7.Rasa Lila was not discussed by Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu even with His Panca Tattva members.

8.As soon as a child is born, he requires milk, an invalid requires milk, an old man needs milk, sick person requires milk. Milk is the food of life.

Collected Teachings vol #5

That is Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Don’t reject anything. This tape recorder we don’t reject. We don’t say, “Oh, it is material. We shall not touch.” Bring any scientific invention, we shall engage in the service of Kṛṣṇa. That’s all. (laughter) We don’t say it is false. Why? You have applied your brain, you applied your energy to invent such nice machine. Let it be engaged in Kṛṣṇa’s service. Your life will be successful. Nov 13 1968

Nov 15 1968

So only Kṛṣṇa consciousness is the perfect… So Bhāgavata says, na te viduḥ… matir na kṛṣṇe parataḥ svato vā mitho ‘bhipadyeta gṛha-vratānām. So actually gṛha means this material confinement. Gṛha, real gṛha, means one is bound up within some limited space. So gṛha means to keep oneself within some boundary. So Bhāgavata says so long one is interested to keep himself within the boundary of some limited area, he cannot understand Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Matir na kṛṣṇe. He cannot understand what is Kṛṣṇa consciousness or God consciousness. He’s limited within certain boundary. So Bhāgavata says Kṛṣṇa consciousness is not possible for persons who are limited by certain boundary, including universal concept of life. That is also boundary. And matir na kṛṣṇe svataḥ. Svataḥ means by his personal mental speculation. Just like many philosophers are thinking to reach the Absolute Truth beyond this limitation. That is called svataḥ, by personal speculation. Svataḥ, parataḥ. Parataḥ means from authorities. From a spiritual master, from scriptures, from authoritative books, authoritative source of knowledge, that is called parataḥ. Matir na kṛṣṇe parataḥ svato vā mitho. Mitho means by great assembly. Just like the United Nation is trying to solve the problem for the last many years, twenty to twenty-five years, all the nations. This is called mithaḥ, assembly. Mithaḥ means assembly. So why it is not possible? Because they are limited. Their real concept is that “I am this body, I am this nation, I am this this, I am this, I am that.” That’s all. The basic principle is wrong. Therefore it is not possible to make a solution of the problems, either by personal speculation or by receiving knowledge. Just like our principle is to receive knowledge from the spiritual master. But if I keep myself within this boundary… Suppose if somebody thinks that “I am American,” then naturally he’ll be inclined, “Oh, why shall I be inclined to hear from a spiritual master who is Indian, who is Hindu?” So he’ll not be able to capture parataḥ. Similarly, if you go to the assembly like United Nation or Commonwealth conference, like that, but if you keep yourself that “I am this, I am this, I am this,” there is no possibility; therefore they are failing. The basic principle is wrong. Gṛha-vrata. The concept of life is wrong. Gṛha-vratānām. And why they want to be limited by this poor concept of life? This is called material existence. Adānta-gobhir viśatāṁ tamisram [SB 7.5.30]. This limited concept of life is due to unbridled sense. This limited concept of life they want to keep because they want to satisfy their senses. I am going to the assembly, United Nation, but I am keeping myself as American or as German, as Russian, or Indian, that “My nation shall be happy in this way.” Indian is thinking in that way, American is thinking that way, Russian is thinking in another way, another way. They are keeping themself in that limited area, and what benefit they will derive simply by wasting time in the assembly and talking? This is called gṛha-vratānām.

So one has to go outside this limited area. That is called brahma-bhūtaḥ stage. Then they’ll have real Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

…..But because they are trying to keep themselves within the limit of sense gratification, they’re coming again and again to that same platform, eating, sleeping, mating, and defending, without Kṛṣṇa consciousness. So this is the secret how to become Kṛṣṇa conscious.

As soon as one becomes Kṛṣṇa conscious or one becomes in touch with Kṛṣṇa consciousness, spṛśaty, anartha, immediately he becomes delivered from all these misgivings of material existence. That is the test. How one is in contact with Kṛṣṇa consciousness will be tested—how he is freed from all misgivings. Just like for example—not very gigantic example; very small—our students, as soon as they take to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, initiated, immediately so many misgivings they give up. So many. The basic principles of misgiving, what is that? No illicit sex, no intoxication, no meat-eating, no gambling. It is very difficult for persons, especially in the Western countries, to give up all these habits. They are so much entangled.

why only householders on farms–everybody, says Srila Prabhupada

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaFf78Gs_lg&feature=youtu.be
India Jan 11 1977-Conversations
Prabhupāda: Śraddhā-śabde viśvāsa sudṛḍha niścaya. This is basic platform, that “What Kṛṣṇa says, that is truth.” Kṛṣṇa bhakti kaile sarva-karma kṛta haya: “If I follow Kṛṣṇa, then my business is complete.” This is intelligence. Now… We have come to the open field. How it is nice. And so long we were passing through that congested areas-hellish, simply hellish. And now here is open space. How it is nice.
Hari-śauri: To enter into a city is so imposing on your consciousness.
Prabhupāda: Up to that point, simply rubbish, all papers thrown here and there. People are living in… Now see here, how it is open and pleasing. Organize this farm project. Farm. (background talking)
