EXPOSING THE BOOK CHANGES: EXTENSIVE LIST OF MAJOR CHANGES IN SRILA PRABHUPADA’S ORIGINAL BOOKS
Hare Krsna. It is known to many that Srila Prabhupada’s original books have undergone drastic changes. The editors have claimed that they have fixed only the grammatical errors and have kept the writings philosophically untouched, but this is not so. Therefore, the following list of book changes has been compiled to present the changes in an explicit manner for all to know. This analysis of book changes will clear the confusions and will encourage the devotees to stick to the original pre-1978 first edition books by Srila Prabhupada.
It should be noted that some of Srila Prabhupada’s books were changed even during his physical presence. Some of these are Srimad Bhagavatam, Isopanishad, Easy Journey To Other Planets, Teachings of Lord Caitanya. Some quotes are presented towards the end of the article which prove that even such revisions were rejected by Srila Prabhupada. The comparisons have been done for both pre-1978 first editions and pre and post-1978 first and second editions. Hence the devotees are advised to read the first edition pre-1978 books.
A Google drive of book changes articles has been compiled that consists of over 200 articles highlighting the impacts of the changes that pose as an impediment to the understanding the philosophy of Krsna consciousness. The articles can be found in the link that follows.BOOK CHANGES ARTICLES DRIVELink: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cyEy4E4WFpjcdEGJ67TaymZjaNeam3NG?usp=sharing
To help the devotees identify the original books, a drive that contains downloadable Srila Prabhupada’s first edition original books has also been compiled. The devotees are hence requested to take the advantage of this and make the best use of it.ORIGINAL BOOKS DRIVELink: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1nHm72gVwAeei95WDkSLf2aw5x-jRXDoF?usp=sharing

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta – 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 1: The Spiritual Masters : Adi 1.19 : PURPORT : Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu accepted the chain of disciplic succession from Madhva Ācārya, but the Vaiṣṇavas in His line do not accept the tattva-vādīs, who also claim to belong to the Mādhva-sampradāya. To distinguish themselves clearly from the tattva-vādī branch of Madhva’s descendants, the Vaiṣṇavas of Bengal prefer to call themselves Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas. Śrī Madhva Ācārya is also known as Śrī Gauḍa-pūrṇānanda, and therefore the name Mādhva-Gauḍīya-sampradāya is quite suitable for the disciplic succession of the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas. Our spiritual master, Oṁ Viṣṇupāda Śrīmad Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Mahārāja, accepted initiation in the Mādhva-Gauḍīya-sampradāya.

SULOCANA DAS SPEAKS ON UNAUTHORISED CHANGES AND THE IMPORTANCE OF SRILA PRABHUPADA’S ORIGINAL BOOKSHare Krsna. Below are some important quotes that are taken from “The Guru Business” book written by His Grace Sulocana Das that condemn unauthorised editing and emphasize to encourage the devotees to stick to the original books in which Srila Prabhupada is eternally present.
1.)
“Yes, I want that you give me that facility to write my books, but I can attend some meetings of important people and elites. You have taken the right view of the importance of my books. Books will always remain. That was the viewof my Guru Maharaja, and I also have taken it. Therefore I started my movement with my books. And we shall be able to maintain everything with the sales of the books. The temples will be maintained by the book sales, and if there are nomore temples, then the books shall remain.” (Hamsadutta, 11/8/73)

Below is much information about how to chant the maha mantra-Hare Krsna
What I found interesting in the purport below is that SP equates a preacher or 2nd class devotee with a sannyasi. He wanted all his disciples to become at least 2nd class Vaisnavas.
Adi 7.67 purport–A Vaiṣṇava sannyāsī or a Vaiṣṇava in the second stage of advancement in spiritual knowledge can understand four principles-namely, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the devotees, the innocent and the jealous-and he behaves differently with each. He tries to increase his love for Godhead, make friendship with devotees and preach Kṛṣṇa consciousness among the innocent, but he avoids the jealous who are envious of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement.
Feb 11 1977arcāyām eva haraye yaḥ pūjāṁ śraddhayehate na tad-bhakteṣu cānyeṣu sa bhaktaḥ prākṛtaḥ smṛtaḥPrākṛtaḥ stage, so prakṛtaḥ stage means just like we are worshiping The Deity, but not only we shall worship Deity but we make advancement. What is that advancement? To become gradually a preacher. That is madhyama-adhikārī, second stage, preacher. Preacher means that, īśvare tad-adhīneṣu bāliśeṣu dviṣatsu ca prema-maitrī-kṛpā upekṣāḥ yaḥ karoti sa madhyamaḥ When you become fully Kṛṣṇa conscious by worshiping the Deity regularly, as we have got prescription to rise early in the morning, offer maṅgala-ārati, then kīrtana, then class, in this way practicing, practicing. When you become advanced Kṛṣṇa conscious, then your natural tendency will be how to preach. So long you do not develop this tendency for preaching, simply remain in kaniṣṭha-adhikārī, you do not know how to deliver others, na tad-bhakteṣu cānyeṣu, you do not know how to receive elevated, one elevated devotee, you do not know how to do good to others. So Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s mission is not to keep one in the kaniṣṭha-adhikārī, especially those who are born in India.
So long I have money in my pocket I am happy-that is dog civilization-SP
Jan 7 1977 Bombay.
Prabhupāda: We are increasing. There is opposition against our movement, and still, we are increasing.
D. D. Desai: When you say, “We are poor…”
Prabhupāda: No, no, so-called poor.
D. D. Desai: That’s it. Because the other day when I was reading Howard Hughes and his billion-dollar life, and then also Poli(?), I can say this much, that some of our poorest of Indians are far better off than these gentlemen.
Prabhupāda: Yes, culturally we are better off. Materially, we are certainly very poor. But because we are culturally advanced, even the actual poor man, he does not feel that he is in poverty.
D. D. Desai: Yes, that is the case. That is… There is a basic grace in poverty.
Prabhupāda: That is…yaṁ labdhvā cāparaṁ lābhaṁ manyate nādhikaṁ tataḥ yasmin sthite guruṇāpi duḥkhena na vicālyate [Bg. 6.20-23]This is culture. “So long I have got money, I am very happy.” No! “If there is not a single farthing, still, I’ll be happy.” That is real culture. That can be done That is possible when one is Kṛṣṇa conscious. Yaṁ labdhvā cāparaṁ lābhaṁ. Just like Dhruva Mahārāja. He went to the forest to ask Kṛṣṇa to give him a very nice kingdom, but when he met Kṛṣṇa, Nārāyaṇa—He wanted to give him benediction—he said, svamin kṛtartho ‘smi varaṁ na yace: [Cc. Madhya 22.42] “Bas, no more vara.” So we have got such things. Guruṇāpi duḥkhena na vicālyate [Bg. 6.20-23]. Never disturbed. That is culture. And “So long I have got money in the pocket, I am very happy”—that is dog civilization.

Now, suppose if you accept a wrong person as spiritual master, and if you, if he guides you wrongly, then your whole life is spoiled. So one has to accept a spiritual master whose guidance will make his life perfect

The report is that our Bhagavad-gītā as It Is is increasing in sale, others are decreasing.
· The reason is that we are presenting Bhagavad-gītā As It Is, without any adulteration
Srila Prabhupada: There are many editions in your country. There are many editions. All of them are selling nicely. Our Bhagavad-gītā, Bhagavad-gītā As It Is, the latest report is from the trades manager of Macmillan Company, who are our publisher. The report is that our Bhagavad-gītā As It Is is increasing in sale, others are decreasing. The reason is that we are presenting Bhagavad-gītā as it is, without any adulteration. Anything, market, if the commodity is pure… Gold, if it is pure, it has more customers. Milk, if it is pure, it has got more customers. So that we are finding. Because we are presenting Bhagavad-gītā as it is, we are finding more customers. So, this is the fame. And, yaśasaḥ śriyaḥ. Śriyaḥ, beauty. Kṛṣṇa is Himself very beautiful, and all His associates are very beautiful. That is also opulence.

How devotees are protected by the Holy Name and Srila Prabhupada
Hare Krsna-During these very troubling times devotees may doubt about their security and well being, but please hear what Srila Prabhupada has to say to quell these possible doubts.

Dear Kurusrestha,
Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated July 12, and I have carefully considered the contents.Regarding book distribution, everyone, including book distributers, must follow the standard regulations. Book distribution is preaching, it should not be thought of as done for money. It is executed as a preaching purpose. With these guidelines in mind, try to distribute as many books as possible.I can understand your concern about the deterioration of the civilization. Yes, the city will be more dangerous place as Kali-yuga advances. It will be very deteriorating. The modern civilization is so corrupt and as sinful activities are more and more committee., the people will be forced to face more troubles, by nature’s order. Our business, however, is simply to take shelter of the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra and pray to the Holy Name to give us protection. We shall be unaffected by all that will happen. Krsna will provide us with working facilities. Be assured of this, that the devotees will be protected by the Holy Name. Others will have to suffer in the days that are coming.Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

“In Calcutta there was a very virulent type of plague epidemic in 1898. So Calcutta became devastated. All people practically left Calcutta. Daily hundreds and hundreds of people were dying. I was one year old or one and a half years old. So one babaji, he organized sankirtana, Hare Krishna sankirtana all over Calcutta. And in the sankirtana, all people, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Parsi, everyone joined. And they were going road to road, street to street, entering in every house. So the plague SUBSIDED. This is a fact. Everyone who knows history of Calcutta, know that the plague was subsided by sankirtana movement.”

The Bliss of Service
Three times in this verse Advaita Acarya mentions He is servant of the servant
Adi 6.86-caitanyera dāsa muñi, caitanyera dāsacaitanyera dāsa muñi, tāṅra dāsera dāsa
TRANSLATION“I am a servant of Lord Caitanya, a servant of Lord Caitanya. I am a servant of Lord Caitanya, and a servant of His servants.”
The source of the sentiment of servitude is indeed Lord Balarāma. The plenary expansions who follow Him are all influenced by that ecstasy.
Lord Saṅkarṣaṇa, who is one of His incarnations, always considers Himself a devotee. The Viṣṇu who lies on the Causal Ocean is an incarnation of Lord Saṅkarṣaṇa, and, accordingly, the emotion of being a devotee is always present in His heart.
Advaita Ācārya is a separate expansion of Him. He always engages in devotional service with His thoughts, words and actions.
By His words He declares, “I am a servant of Lord Caitanya.” Thus with His mind He always thinks, “I am His devotee.”
With His body He worshiped the Lord by offering Ganges water and tulasī leaves, and by preaching devotional service He delivered the entire universe.
Śeṣa Saṅkarṣaṇa, who holds all the planets on His head, expands Himself in different bodies to render service to Lord Kṛṣṇa.
These are all incarnations of Lord Kṛṣṇa, yet we always find that they act as devotees.
