Srila Prabhupada Explains His 1935 Vyasa-Puja Homage

Disappearance Day of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Hyderabad, December 10, 1976

Srila Prabhupäda: (reading from Back To Godhead) “… simple expression of reverence and love. The disciple, Abhay Charan Dasa, was to become His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedänta Swämï Prabhupada, Founder-Acarya of International Society, Krishna Consciousness. ” So whatever I appreciated forty years ago, the same principle is going on. We have no change. What I understood my spiritual master… Practically I met him in 1922 and this poetry was written in 1936.

How to go to goloka—SP

Hare Krsna–

Below are several directions given by Srila Prabhupada for our benefit, if we are serious about this process of chanting Hare Krsna maha mantra.

If you really don’t care that much about arriving in Krsna loka some day, because you are more interested in plan making within this material world, then don’t bother yourself to read further. After all, its 5 pages long, and that is a long time in computer on line time.

To read further means you are curious,  like a normal human being, and want to hear what the real Spiritual Masters of the param para, tells us for this age  what  exactly we should be doing with our daily lives.

For those curious souls, I think you will find the following information, very useful.

Sp re. Even the most learned or experienced person cannot understand the movements of a Vaiṣṇava

**newrule

Srila Prabhupada:…”The devotee does not do anything not sanctioned by the Supreme Personality of Godhead. As it is said, vaiṣṇavera kriyā mudrā vijñeha nā bujhaya. Even the most learned or experienced person cannot understand the movements of a Vaiṣṇava, a pure devotee. No one, therefore, should criticize a pure Vaiṣṇava. A Vaiṣṇava knows his own business; whatever he does is precisely right because he is always guided by the Supreme Personality of Godhead”

Srila Prabhupada regarding the exalted position of Sri Kaliiya krsna dasa

**newrule

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta – 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 11: The Expansions of Lord Nityananda : Adi 11.37 : PURPORT :
In the Gaura-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā, verse 132), it is said that Kālā Kṛṣṇadāsa, who was also known as Kāliyā Kṛṣṇadāsa, was formerly a gopa (cowherd boy) of the name Lavaṅga. He was one of the twelve cowherd boys. Kāliyā Kṛṣṇadāsa had his headquarters in a village named Ākāihāṭa, which is situated in the district of Burdwan within the jurisdiction of the post office and police station of Katwa. It is situated on the road to Navadvīpa. To reach Akāihāṭa, one has to go from the Vyāṇḍela junction station to the Katwa railway station and then go about two miles, or one has to get off at the Dāṅihāṭa station and from there go one mile. The village of Akāihāṭa is very small. In the month of Caitra, on the day of Vāruṇī, there is a festival commemorating the disappearance day of Kālā Kṛṣṇadāsa.

Srila Prabhupada’s warning concerning imitative spiritual masters

**newrule

Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (6.3.20) states that there are twelve mahājanas: Brahmā, Nārada, Śambhu, Kumāra, Kapila, Manu, Prahlāda, Janaka, Bhīṣma, Bali, Śukadeva and Yamarāja.
To select our mahājanas in the Gauḍīya–sampradāya, we have to follow in the footsteps of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His representatives. His next representative is Śrī Svarūpa Dāmodara Gosvāmī, and the next are the six Gosvāmīs-Śrī Rūpa, Śrī Sanātana, Bhaṭṭa Raghunātha, Śrī Jīva, Gopāla Bhaṭṭa and Dāsa Raghunātha. The follower of Viṣṇusvāmī was Śrīdhara Svāmī, the most well known commentator on Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. He was also a mahājana. Similarly, Caṇḍīdāsa, Vidyāpati and Jayadeva were all mahājanas. One who tries to imitate the mahājanas just to become an imitative spiritual master is certainly far away from following in the footsteps of the mahājanas. Sometimes people cannot actually understand how a mahājana follows other mahājanas. In this way people are inclined to fall from devotional serviceBooks : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta – 1975 Edition : Cc. Pop quiz–When is the ONLY time Maya is connected with Visnu or Krsna??

Article by Damagosha Dasa

**newrule

Adi 5.51 purport
It is the function of Maha Sankarsana in the form of Kāraṇodakaśāyī Visnu to glance over the material creation, which is situated beyond the limits of the Causal Ocean. Material nature is connected with the Personality of Godhead by His glance over her and nothing more. It is said that she is impregnated by the energy of His glance. The material energy, maya never even touches the Causal Ocean, for the Lord’s glance focuses upon her from a great distance away.

Madhya 20. 309
Of the three deities supervising the creation, maintenance and dissolution of the universe, Lord Viṣṇu is never separate from the original Viṣṇu. However, Lord Śiva and Brahmā, due to their association with māyā, are different from Viṣṇu. Viṣṇu cannot be transformed into any form of material energy. Whenever there is association with māyā, the personality involved must be different from Lord Viṣṇu. Therefore Lord Śiva and Lord Brahmā are called guṇa-avatāras, for they associate with the material qualities. The conclusion is that Rudra is a transformation of Viṣṇu, but he is not exactly Lord Viṣṇu. Therefore, he does not come within the category of the viṣṇu-tattvas

Hare Krsna

Note–Below are two lectures tidbits. The first one Srila Prabhupada explains the difference between bhoga-tyaga-or accepting enjoyment or renunciation for the service of the Lord and gives some nice examples

NOD Vrndavana Oct 19 1972

So sometimes… Just like there is example. We asked this question,bhoga-tyāga, to our Guru Mahārāja. So… What is the difference…? Just like Rūpa Gosvāmī, he left everything for Caitanya Mahāprabhu’sservice. His lucrative service, minister post and everything, he re…Tyāga. And Rāmānanda Rāya, he was governor. He was governor andgṛhastha, and living very luxuriantly. He’s bhoga, he’s bhoga platform. Now both of them were devotees of Lord Caitanya. So what is the difference? This question was put. So our Guru Mahārāja replied: Just like a woman. According to our Vedic system, when the husband is out of home, the women is not supposed to dress herself very nicely. Proṣita bhartṛkā. It is called proṣita bhartṛkā. The system was that one should dress herself in such a way that people can understand what is her position—whether she’s unmarried, whether she’s married, whether she’s widow, whether her husband is away, whether she’s a pro…, she’s a prostitute, everything. By the dress one should understand. “She is, she is widow,” “She has got her husband,” “Her husband is now away from home.” “Oh, she is a prostitute,” “She’s not married.” In this way. Because she’s not to be asked. Simply by the dress one can understand. So the proṣita bhartṛkā. She does not dress herself, she lies down on the floor, does not change her clothes very nicely, does not dress the, comb the hair, proṣita bhartṛkā. And the same woman, when her husband is at home, she take twice bath and dresses herself, applies oil and very nice dress, ornaments, and so many things. Women know how to decorate themselves. But the… There is no difference. Her not dressing herself nicely and dressing herself nicely, it may be considered that bhoga and tyāga. But either of these positions is for center is husband. Center is husband. Therefore bhoga-tyāga is not consideration. If for Kṛṣṇa I have to give up everything, I will give up. And if Kṛṣṇa, I’ll have to accept everything, I will accept. This is required. Not the position of bhoga-tyāga, but service. If by giving up everything I can serve Kṛṣṇa well, I shall give it up, everything. And if by accepting everything I shall serve Kṛṣṇa very nicely, then I accept everything. That is required.Ānukūlyena.

As devotees, its no problem eating-its more a question of which preparation should we make for Krsna today!

**newrule

Hare Krsna-
Below are two conversations. The first, Srila Prabhupada explains the basic
principle of material life-sense gratification. Everyone has 4 bodily necessities- to eat, sleep,  sex and defend. He explains how that pleasure is the same in all species of life. And as Human beings we need not concern ourselves with these basic bodily needs as Krsna will take care of them all very nicely. The more we work does not mean that much more we will enjoy. No-that amount is already fixed, so better to spend our time with understanding who we are, who is Krsna and how to serve Him.

Monitor does not give Diksha

Monitor does NOT give Diksa BUT Ritvik Representative can give 1st and 2nd Initiations ON BEHALF of Srila Prabhupada, the Acarya
Monitor does NOT give Diksa Compiled by: Mahesh Raja, UK
Monitor does NOT give Diksa BUT  Ritvik Representative can give 1st and 2nd Initiations ON BEHALF of Srila Prabhupada, the Acarya as per July 9th 1977 Order
I was asked some questions by a devotee recently – the exchange will be of interest to others:
Q.    ((Does it mean that as long as one is kanistha adhikari or less, there is no real pressing need to take diksa since it is only a formality?))
Press Interview, October 16, 1976, Chandigarh
Interviewer: What is the procedure of the movement? Do you initiate yourself all the disciples or do your other disciples also do that?
Srila Prabhupada: Well, initiation or no initiation, first thing is knowledge. (break) …knowledge. Initiation is formality. Just like you go to a school for knowledge, and admission is formality. That is not very important thing.
