SB 2.3.22-The eyes which do not look at the symbolic representations of the Personality of Godhead Vishnu [His forms, name, quality, etc.] are like those printed on the plumes of the peacock, and the legs which do not move to the holy places [where the Lord is remembered] are considered to be like tree trunks.
PURPORT—Especially for the householder devotees, the path of Deity worship is strongly recommended. As far as possible, every householder, by the direction of the spiritual master, must install the Deity of Viṣṇu, forms like Rādhā–Kṛṣṇa, Lakṣmī–Nārāyaṇa or Sītā–Rāma especially, or any other form of the Lord, and one’s family should worship strictly following the directions and regulations of arcana–vidhi. Any member of the family who is above twelve years of age should be initiated by a bona fide spiritual master, and all the members of the household should be engaged in the daily service of the Lord, beginning from morning (4 a.m.) till night (10 p.m.) by performing maṅgala–ārātrika, nirañjana, arcana, pūjā, kīrtana, śṛṅgāra, bhoga-vaikāli, sandhyā–ārātrika, pāṭha, bhoga (at night), śayana–ārātrika, etc. Engagement in such worship of the Deity, under the direction of a bona fide spiritual master, will greatly help the householders to purify their very existence and make rapid progress in spiritual knowledge. Simple theoretical book knowledge is not sufficient for a neophyte devotee. Book knowledge is theoretical, whereas the arcana process is practical. Spiritual knowledge must be developed by a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge, andthat is the guaranteed way for attainment of spiritual perfection. The training of devotional service for a neophyte devotee completely depends on the expert spiritual master who knows how to lead his disciple to make gradual progress towards the path back home, back to Godhead. Śrī-vigraha is the arcā, or suitable worshipable form of the Lord, and the disciple should be engaged in worshiping the Deity regularly by śṛṅgāra, by proper decoration and dressing, as also by mandira–mārjana, the matter of cleansing the temple. The spiritual master teaches the neophyte devotee all these kindly and personally to help him gradually in the realization of the transcendental name, quality, form, etc., of the Lord. Only attention engaged in the service of the Lord, especially in dressing and decorating the temple, accompanied by musical kīrtana and spiritual instructions from scriptures, can save the common man from the hellish cinema attractions and rubbish sex-songs broadcast everywhere by radios. If one is unable to maintain a temple at home, he should go to another’s temple where all the above performances are regularly executed.Visiting the temple of a devotee and looking at the profusely decorated forms of the Lord well dressed in a well-decorated, sanctified temple naturally infuse the mundane mind with spiritual inspiration.

SB 5.14.2 purport–One may very easily use his assets for the further advancement of Kṛṣṇaconsciousness. One should understand that the wealth and opportunity one gets in the material world should not be squandered in sense gratification. They are meant for the advancement of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. This Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is therefore teaching people to control the mind and five knowledge-acquiring senses by a definite process. One should practice a little austerity and not spend money on anything other than the regulative life of devotional service. The senses demand that one see beautiful things; therefore money should be spent for decorating the Deity in the temple. Similarly, the tongue has to taste good food, which should be bought and offered to the Deity. The nose can be utilized in smelling the flowers offered to the Deity, and the hearing can be utilized by listening to the vibration of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra. In this way the senses can be regulated and utilized to advance Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Thus a good position might not be spoiled by material sense gratification in the form of illicit sex, meat-eating, intoxication and gambling. One spoils an opulent position in the material world by driving cars, spending time in nightclubs or tasting abominable food in restaurants. In these ways. the plundering senses take away all the assets that the conditioned soul has acquired with great difficulty.

Are we still rebellious against God even though we chant 16 rounds a day?

1.)-SB -3.5.2-Vidura said: O great sage, everyone in this world engages in fruitive activities to attain happiness, but one finds neither satiation nor the mitigation of distress. On the contrary, one is only aggravated by such activities. Please, therefore, give us directions on how one should live for real happiness.
PURPORT–Vidura asked Maitreya some common questions, which was not originally his intention. Uddhava asked Vidura to approach Maitreya Muni and inquire into all the truths concerning the Lord, His name, fame, quality, form, pastimes, entourage, etc., and thus when Vidura approached Maitreya, he should have asked only about the Lord. But out of natural humility he did not immediately ask about the Lord, but inquired into a subject which would be of great importance to the common man. A common man cannot understand the Lord. He must first know the real position of his life under the influence of the illusory energy. In illusion one thinks that he can be happy only by fruitive activities, but what actually happens is that one becomes more and more entangled in the network of action and reaction and does not find any solution to the problem of life. There is a nice song in this connection: “Because of a great desire to have all happiness in life, I built this house. But unfortunately the whole scheme has turned to ashes because the house was unexpectedly set on fire.” The law of nature is like that. Everyone tries to become happy by planning in the material world, but the law of nature is so cruel that it sets fire to one’s schemes; the fruitive worker is not happy in his schemes, nor is there any satiation of his continuous hankering for happiness.
2.)-SB-3.5.3-O my lord, great philanthropic souls travel on the earth on behalf of the Supreme Personality of Godhead to show compassion to the fallen souls who are averse to the sense of subordination to the Lord.
PURPORT-To be obedient to the wishes of the Supreme Lord is the natural position of every living entity. But due only to past misdeeds, a living being becomes averse to the sense of subordination to the Lord and suffers all the miseries of material existence. No one has anything to do but render devotional service to the Supreme Lord, Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Therefore any activity other than transcendental loving service to the Lord is more or less a rebellious action against the supreme will. All fruitive activity, empirical philosophy and mysticism are more or less against the sense of subordination to the Lord, and any living entity engaged in such rebellious activity is more or less condemned by the laws of material nature, which work under the subordination of the Lord. Great unalloyed devotees of the Lord are compassionate towards the fallen, and therefore they travel all over the world with the mission of bringing souls back to Godhead, back to home. Such pure devotees of the Lord carry the message of Godhead in order to deliver the fallen souls, and therefore the common man who is bewildered by the influence of the external energy of the Lord should avail himself of their association.

3.)-April 3 1975 Mayapur

If you think, “Now I have chanted my sixteen rounds. Now I’ve finished my business. Now I can do whatever nonsense I like,” no. Kṛṣṇa says no. Satata. Therefore we have to plan our life in such a way that we haven’t got any other engagement than service of Kṛṣṇa. This is required. ….. Unless you develop love for Kṛṣṇa, you cannot be engaged twenty-four hours. That is not possible. Therefore it is said, prīti-pūrvakam: not officially, but with love. If you acquire this qualification, then you will talk with Kṛṣṇa who is within your heart. Then you’ll talk. He is ready to talk, but He does not talk with rascals and fools. One must acquire the qualification to talk with Kṛṣṇa. Then you’ll be able to talk with Deity. Within your heart Kṛṣṇa is situated there. Anywhere you go, Kṛṣṇa is within you, and He’ll give you intelligence. ….

Some Conclusions– Some say, just chant and you will go back to Godhead. Yes this is true, but we must be qualified to go. Srila Prabhupada gives us a more clear picture here of exactly what  it
takes to do that-beginning with  the earliest pages of Bhagavad Gita-how to act for God without fruitive desire or results.

JARASANDHA-VAISNAVA

JARASANDHA-VAISNAVA

compiled by Mahesvara dasa [Mahesh Raja UK]

Srila Prabhupada: Yes. He, he was worshiping Visnu at home, and he was trying to kill Krsna. SIMILARLY, THERE ARE MANY VAISNAVAS LIKE JARASANDHA–APPARENTLY WORSHIPING VISNU–BUT TRYING TO KILL KRSNA. JARASANDHA-VAISNAVA.
Devotee: So what is the value of such worship of Visnu?
Srila Prabhupada: Eh?
Devotee: SO WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF SUCH WORSHIP OF VISNU? JARASANDHA WORSHIP?
Srila Prabhupada: THEY WILL GET MATERIAL OPULENCE. ASURAS, THEY WANT MATERIAL OPULENCE. THEY, THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS SPIRITUAL LIFE OR SPIRITUAL HAPPINESS, WHAT IS DEVOTIONAL SERVICE. NEITHER THEY’D LIKE TO UNDERSTAND. Which way?740302mw.may              Conversations

Srila Prabhupada: (chants japa) (break). They’ll talk of Krsna, so many things but they’re not devotees. Just like Kamsa. They may talk of Krsna or think of Krsna, but they don’t accept Krsna as the Supreme. Therefore they are demons. This is the test. They’ll read Bhagavad-gita, but they’ll not accept Krsna as the Supreme. And that is the demonic. mayayapahrta-jnana asurim bhavam asritah. Because they are demons, therefore their so-called knowledge is useless. Apahrta-jnana. And apparently, they seem to be very learned scholar, but there is no knowledge. There is no knowledge. This is the demonic… Just like Ravana. He was very much advanced student in Vedic literature. But he was a demon. So simply by studying Vedas one does not become out of the jurisdiction of demons. JUST LIKE JARASANDHA. HE WAS ALSO WORSHIPING VISNU. BUT HE WAS A DEMON. HE WAS A DEMON. HIS PURPOSE WAS DIFFERENT. The yajnic brahmanas, they also could not understand Krsna. So this is the crucial test. If one does not understand Krsna and become submissive to surrender, he remains a demon, however big scholar he may be.

PURPORT

In these verses the author of Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Krsnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami, is very seriously stressing the importance of worship of the Panca-tattva. IF ONE BECOMES A DEVOTEE OF GAURASUNDARA OR KRSNA BUT DOES NOT GIVE IMPORTANCE TO THE PANCA-TATTVA (SRI-KRSNA-CAITANYA PRABHU-NITYANANDA SRI-ADVAITA GADADHARA SRIVASADI-GAURA-BHAKTA-VRNDA), HIS ACTIVITIES ARE CONSIDERED TO BE OFFENSES, OR, IN THE WORDS OF SRILA RUPA GOSVAMI, UTPATA (DISTURBANCES). One must therefore be ready to offer due respects to the Panca-tattva before becoming a devotee of Lord Gaurasundara or of Sri Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

ONE WHO DOES NOT ACCEPT KRSNA AS THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD IS CERTAINLY A DEMON. SIMILARLY, ANYONE WHO DOES NOT ACCEPT SRI CAITANYA MAHAPRABHU AS KRSNA, THE SAME SUPREME LORD, IS ALSO TO BE CONSIDERED A DEMON.

 PURPORT

FORMERLY THERE WERE KINGS LIKE JARASANDHA WHO STRICTLY FOLLOWED THE VEDIC RITUALS, ACTED AS CHARITABLE, COMPETENT KSATRIYAS, POSSESSED ALL KSATRIYA QUALITIES AND WERE EVEN OBEDIENT TO THE BRAHMINICAL CULTURE BUT WHO DID NOT ACCEPT KRSNA AS THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD. JARASANDHA ATTACKED KRSNA MANY TIMES, AND EACH TIME, OF COURSE, HE WAS DEFEATED. LIKE JARASANDHA, ANY MAN WHO PERFORMS VEDIC RITUALS BUT DOES NOT ACCEPT KRSNA AS THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD MUST BE CONSIDERED AN ASURA, OR DEMON. SIMILARLY, ONE WHO DOES NOT ACCEPT SRI CAITANYA MAHAPRABHU AS KRSNA HIMSELF IS ALSO A DEMON. This is the conclusion of authoritative scriptures. Therefore, both so-called devotion to Gaurasundara without devotional service to Krsna and so-called krsna-bhakti without devotional service to Gaurasundara are nondevotional activities. If one wants to be successful on the path of Krsna consciousness, he must be thoroughly conscious of the personality of Gaurasundara as well as the personality of Krsna. Knowing the personality of Gaurasundara means knowing the personalities of sri-krsna-caitanya prabhu-nityananda sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda. The author of Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, pursuant to the authorities, stresses this principle for perfection in Krsna consciousness.

Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda
Books : Srimad-Bhagavatam : Canto 2: “The Cosmic Manifestation” : SB 2.9: Answers by Citing the Lord’s Version : SB 2.9.6 : PURPORT :
When Lord Brahmā was perplexed about how to construct the material manifestations in the universe and went down within the water to find out the means and the source of his lotus seat, he heard the word tapa vibrated twice. Taking the path of tapa is the second birth of the desiring disciple. The word upāśṛṇot is very significant. It is similar to upanayana, or bringing the disciple nearer to the spiritual master for the path of tapa. So Brahmājī was thus initiated by Lord Kṛṣṇa, and this fact is corroborated by Brahmājī himself in his book the Brahma-saṁhitā. In the Brahma-saṁhitā Lord Brahmā has sung in every verse govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi **. Thus Brahmā was initiated by the Kṛṣṇa mantra, by Lord Kṛṣṇa Himself, and thus he became a Vaiṣṇava, or a devotee of the Lord, before he was able to construct the huge universe. It is stated in the Brahma-saṁhitā that Lord Brahmā was initiated into the eighteen-letter Kṛṣṇa mantra, which is generally accepted by all the devotees of Lord Kṛṣṇa. We follow the same principle because we belong to the Brahmā sampradāya, directly in the disciplic chain from Brahmā to Nārada, from Nārada to Vyāsa, from Vyāsa to Madhva Muni, from Madhva Muni to Mādhavendra Purī, from Mādhavendra Purī to Īśvara Purī, from Īśvara Purī to Lord Caitanya and gradually to His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī, our divine master.
Books : Srimad-Bhagavatam : Canto 3: “The Status Quo” : SB 3.13: The Appearance of Lord Varaha : SB 3.13.8 : PURPORT :
Brahmā is the direct recipient of Vedic knowledge from the Personality of Godhead, and anyone discharging his entrusted duties in disciplic succession from Brahmā is sure to gain fame in this life and salvation in the next. The disciplic succession from Brahmā is called the Brahma-sampradāya, and it descends as follows: Brahmā, Nārada, Vyāsa, Madhva Muni (Pūrṇaprajña), Padmanābha, Nṛhari, Mādhava, Akṣobhya, Jayatīrtha, Jñānasindhu, Dayānidhi, Vidyānidhi, Rājendra, Jayadharma, Puruṣottama, Brahmaṇyatīrtha, Vyāsatīrtha, Lakṣmīpati, Mādhavendra Purī, Īśvara Purī, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, Svarūpa Dāmodara and Śrī Rūpa Gosvāmī and others, Śrī Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī, Kṛṣṇadāsa Gosvāmī, Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura, Viśvanātha Cakravartī, Jagannātha dāsa Bābājī, Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, Gaurakiśora dāsa Bābājī, Śrīmad Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami.
Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta – 1975 Edition : Cc. Introduction :
This is the method of paramparā, or disciplic succession. Similarly, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam explains that Kṛṣṇa imparted knowledge into the heart of Brahmā, the first created creature within the universe. Brahmā imparted those lessons to his disciple Nārada, and Nārada imparted that knowledge to his disciple Vyāsadeva. Vyāsadeva imparted it to Madhvācārya, and from Madhvācārya the knowledge has come down to Mādhavendra Purī, to Īśvara Purī, and from him to Caitanya Mahāprabhu
Śrī Mādhavendra Purī is one of the ācāryas in the disciplic succession from Madhvācārya.
Mādhavendra Purī had two principal disciples, Īśvara Purī and Śrī Advaita Prabhu. Therefore the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava-sampradāya is a disciplic succession from Madhvācārya. This fact has been accepted in the authorized books known as Gaura-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā and Prameya-ratnāvalī, as well as by Gopāla Guru Gosvāmī. The Gaura-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā clearly states the disciplic succession of the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas as follows: “Lord Brahmā is the direct disciple of Viṣṇu, the Lord of the spiritual sky. His disciple is Nārada, Nārada’s disciple is Vyāsa, and Vyāsa’s disciples are Śukadeva Gosvāmī and Madhvācārya. Padmanābha Ācārya is the disciple of Madhvācārya, and Narahari is the disciple of Padmanābha Ācārya. Mādhava is the disciple of Narahari, Akṣobhya is the direct disciple of Mādhava, and Jayatīrtha is the disciple of Akṣobhya. Jayatīrtha’s disciple is Jñānasindhu, and his disciple is Mahānidhi. Vidyānidhi is the disciple of Mahānidhi, and Rājendra is the disciple of Vidyānidhi. Jayadharma is the disciple of Rājendra. Puruṣottama is the disciple of Jayadharma. Śrīmān Lakṣmīpati is the disciple of Vyāsatīrtha, who is the disciple of Puruṣottama. And Mādhavendra Purī is the disciple of Lakṣmīpati.Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta – 1975 Edition : Cc. Whenever the Supreme Personality of Godhead descends in His human form, He sends ahead all His devotees, who act as His father, teacher and associates in many roles. Such personalities appear before the descent of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Before the appearance of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Mahāprabhu, there appeared His devotees like Śrī Mādhavendra Purī; His spiritual master, Śrī Īśvara Purī; His mother, Śrīmatī Śacīdevī; His father, Śrī Jagannātha Miśra; and Śrī Advaita Ācārya. Śrī Mādhavendra Purī, also known as Śrī Mādhava Purī, belonged to the disciplic succession from Madhvācārya and was a greatly celebrated sannyāsī. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was the third disciplic descendant from Śrī Mādhavendra Purī. The process of worship in the disciplic succession of Madhvācārya was full of ritualistic ceremonies, with hardly a sign of love of Godhead; Śrī Mādhavendra Purī was the first person in that disciplic succession to exhibit the symptoms of love of Godhead and the first to write a poem beginning with the words ayi dīna-dayārdra nātha, “O supremely merciful Personality of Godhead.” In that poem is the seed of Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s cultivation of love of Godhead.Srila Prabhupada explains how Srila Madhavendra Puri rediscovered Gopala ji

I offer my respectful obeisances unto Mādhavendra Purī, who was given a pot of sweet rice stolen by Śrī Gopīnātha, celebrated thereafter as Kṣīra-corā. Being pleased by Mādhavendra Purī’s love, Śrī Gopāla, the Deity at Govardhana, appeared to the public vision.

PURPORT
Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura annotates that this Gopāla Deity was originally installed by Vajra, the grandson of Kṛṣṇa. Mādhavendra Purī rediscovered Gopāla and established Him on top of Govardhana Hill. This Gopāla Deity is still situated at Nāthadvāra and is under the management of descendants of Vallabhācārya. Very strange and curious things

Very strange and curious things, by Javier Figuerola or Haripada dasa
In this life I have seen very strange and curious things, I am going to share some of them.
I heard a news that several countries have made a giant device that costs 8 billion euros to launch it into space, what a strange and curious thing, here on Earth there are so many people who are dying of hunger and these people to satisfy the caprice of scientists spend 8 billion euros.
There are many women who enthusiastically go to countries where children are starving, and what a strange and curious thing, and those same women when they get pregnant kill their children through abortion.
And the strangest and most curious thing is that people who have a lot of money build big houses, have nice cars, a bank account with many numbers, etc., they think that they will never die and that they will live here eternally, but we can forget that we have to die, but death does not forget, death always arrives at its right moment. Once Srila Prabhupada was talking to some theologians and telling them that God or Krishna will come in the form of death and take away everything, now understand God ?, Materialists and atheists experience God or Krishna at the time of death , and the devotees of God or Krishna experience God or Krishna at every moment of their lives through devotional service to God or Krishna and His devotees.

If you love these material things then you should know you are not in love with God-SP

(Srila Prabhupada Lecture, Honolulu, January 20, 1974)

“If you love these material things, then you should know that you are not in love with God. If you are in love with God, then you’ll forget material love. That is the test. Bhaktiḥ pareśānubhavo viraktir anyatra syāt (SB 11.2.42). Bhakti, love of Godhead, the symptom is that he’s no more in love with material things. That is the test. You cannot… Just like you cannot love two persons. That is divided. One love concentrated, that is perfect love. Similarly, another example is given that we are all hankering after love. Because we do not find whom to love, therefore we place our love even cats and dogs. We love a dog. Anyone who has no other object to love — no children, no family, no wife — all right, keep a cat, keep a dog. But love is there.
So that love is deserved for Krishna, or the Supreme Personality of Godhead. So more we learn how to love the Supreme Lord, that is perfection of life. Sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharmaḥ. And what kind of love? Ahaituky apratihatā: that love is not motivated, that ‘I want this thing; therefore I shall love.’ Here in this material world the so-called love, lust, is motivated: ‘I’ll get so much sense gratification; therefore I love a boy or a girl.’ That is not love; that is lust. Love means without any motive. Without any motive. Ahaitukī. And that, that love cannot be checked by any material impediments. Ahaituky apratihatā yayātmā samprasīdati (SB 1.2.6). If you can reach that love of Godhead, then you’ll feel, ‘Oh, I am so fortunate.’ Otherwise we remain unfortunate. So love is there everywhere. Even in cats’ and dogs’ love there is love. But the perfection is when you actually find out the person to love and you actually do it, that is perfection.“

When I was in India I heard it that if you go to see an important businessman, his secretary, while talking with that man, the secretary gives you a card that “This Mr. such and such cannot spare more than two minutes.” Is it a fact? Huh? Anyway, we should not waste our time, either you act materially or spiritually. But materially we have no business, although we have taken it the material business as very important and spiritual business has no meaning. This is the sum and substance of modern civilization. But so far we are concerned, not only we, everyone, the human life is only meant for spiritual purpose. Not for material purpose.

Today we have so many devotees who have opinions different than those of the founder of this Hare Krsna Movement, Srila Prabhupada. Some may say it wasn’t Prabhupada who began this movement, it was Sri Caitanya and all others in the param para. Of course Sri Caitanya began this movement in the modern age and Srila Prabhupada and no other , was the only one who took it out of India, and spread it worldwide. He is the one who is directly empowered at present, by the Supreme Lord and the param para, to spread the chanting and the philosophy behind how to chant and how to work in this world. If anybody has a problem with that, then they are simply envious of Srila Prabhupada. Let them go out and do what he did in 12 years, or even more.

I am independent, I can do whatever I want-this is a madman talking

SB 7.2.57 purport-
Yamarāja once asked Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, “What is the most wonderful thing within this world?” Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira replied (Mahābhārata, Vana–parva313.116):

Hundreds and thousands of living entities meet death at every moment, but a foolish living being nonetheless thinks himself deathless and does not prepare for death. This is the most wonderful thing in this world.Everyone has to die because everyone is fully under the control of material nature, yet everyone thinks that he is independent, that whatever he likes he can do, that he will never meet death but live forever, and so on. So-called scientists are making various plans by which living entities in the future can live forever, but while they are thus pursuing such scientific knowledge, Yamarāja, in due course of time, will take them away from their business of so-called research.
SB class-Jan 3, 1974 LA
The modern civilization, rascal civilization, they do not know how to utilize life. So many days, so many hours, they are simply wasting, simply wasting. It is said that the sunrise and sunset, during this period, the sun’s business is to take away the duration of our life, sunrise and sunset. That means twelve hours or thirteen hours which is gone between the sunrise and sunset…This sun’s business is to take away the portion, the fixed up duration of life which I have been given. That is, some of it, is taken away. The same example. Just like you have got a fixed balance in the bank. If you draw even ten pence, ten shillings, that means it is taken away. You have to replace it. But replacing is not possible. Bank balance you can replace. But the balance… Suppose you have passed… I have passed… Suppose if I live for eighty years or ninety years or hundred years. So this seventy-eight years is already taken away. It cannot be replaced. You cannot make the bank balance or the duration of…, again complete. That is not possible. This is plain fact.
Therefore here it is said that those who are Kṛṣṇa conscious, they must weigh, measure every moment, “Whether this moment has been spent without Kṛṣṇa consciousness?” That is the criterion. Avyartha-kālatvam [Cc. Madhya 23.18-19], nāma-gāne sadā ruciḥ. This is the test of advanced Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Rūpa Gosvāmī gives, avyartha-kālatvam. Avyartha-kālatvam means “Whether my time has been spent uselessly?” One should be alert. “Whether my time has been used, has been uselessly spent by talking nonsense?

“I offer my respectful obeisances to Jagannatha das Babaji, who is respected by the entire Vaisnava community and who discovered the place where Lord Caitanya appeared.”   (Srila Jagannatha Pranati)

Srila Jagannatha das Babaji, the spiritual master of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, confirmed Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s discovery of the birthplace of Lord Caitanya. Upon arriving at the birthplace, Jagannatha das Babaji, though blind and crippled, leaped high into the air and began chanting the names of Krishna and dancing.

Srila Prabhupada explains the glorious position of Srila Jagannatha dasa Babaji.

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is none other than the combined form of Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. He is the life of those devotees who strictly follow in the footsteps of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī and Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī are the two principal followers of Śrīla Svarūpa Dāmodara Gosvāmī, who acted as the most confidential servitor of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Mahāprabhu, known as Viśvambhara in His early life. A direct disciple of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī was Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī. The author of Śrī Caitanya–caritāmṛta, Śrīla Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī, stands as the direct disciple of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī and Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī.

The direct disciple of Śrīla Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī was Śrīla Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura, who accepted Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī as his servitor. Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura accepted Śrīla Jagannātha dāsa Bābājī, who initiated Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, who in turn initiated Śrīla Gaurakiśora dāsa Bābājī, the spiritual master of Oṁ Viṣṇupāda Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Mahārāja, the divine master of our humble self. Nothing is necessary-just Krsna–SP

Nothing is Necessary-just Krsna–
(Below we see how Srila Prabhupada explains the defects in out thinking process where we “think” so many things are “necessary”)
1.)July 14 1975 Philadelphia
Ravīndra-svarūpa: What is the advantage of a tree, Śrīla Prabhupāda?
Prabhupāda: You see how they are standing there for five thousand years. You cannot do it. You cannot do it even for five minutes.
Svarūpa Dāmodara: Actually the trees are absolutely necessary for the survival of animals.
Prabhupāda: That is another thing. We say nothing is necessary, simply Kṛṣṇa is necessary. That is material conception: “This is necessary. This is necessary.” But Kṛṣṇa says, “Nothing is necessary.” Sarva-dharmān parityajya [Bg. 18.66]. You are simply planning and becoming entangled with so-called “necessary.“
Svarūpa Dāmodara: But that is on the spiritual platform.
Prabhupāda: You can create spiritual platform immediately. Sa guṇān samatītyaitān [Bg. 14.26]. If you fully engage yourself in devotional service, immediately you are above this material conception.
Svarūpa Dāmodara: So the concept that the three modes of material nature, they’re working all species, so it’s not the…
Prabhupāda: They are directing. Just like in the jail there are different departmental management, similarly, this management is required because you are in the jail. If you don’t go to jail, the management may be closed. But you are thinking, “If I do not go to jail, how it will exist?” That is your business, say that “If we all become liberated, how this world will go on?” They say like that, as if it is very necessary.
(In this conversation below Srila Prabhupada explains to an Indian man who is also on the mental platform that there is only one thing that is really important or necessary-Surrender.)

2.)Jan 8 1977 Bombay
Indian man: Second thing is…
Prabhupāda: No, first of all you understand this. Then bring second thing. That you have no duty. Your only duty is to surrender to Kṛṣṇa. Sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekam [Bg. 18.66]. That is your only duty. But because you are under the mental platform, you are creating duties, so but that also must be finished after certain age. That is compulsory, that “You are very good, responsible man. All right, do your duty up to this. No more duty. No more duty.” So this “duty, no duty,” this is our creation. We are under fully control of the nature. But we have created our mental concoction: “This is duty. This is good. This is bad.” That is our mano-dharma. Real dharma is sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja [Bg. 18.66]. This is real dharma. And everything is mano-dharma, mental creation. Therefore the Bhāgavata in the beginning it is said that dharmaḥ projjhita-kaitavo ‘tra: [SB 1.1.2] “This false dharma is rejected.” These are all false dharmas. Real dharma is to surrender to Kṛṣṇa. But it takes time. Therefore sat-saṅga is required. But actually real dharma is to become Kṛṣṇa conscious and do everything…
(So in the above two conversations Srila Prabhupada has established that unless and until we surrender to God, Krsna then we are operating on the bodily or mental platform with -”this is my duty , that is my duty, etc”. But as he also mentions, this surrender business takes time and is helped by the association of devotees.)
