Satsvarūpa: How does a preacher realize? How does a preacher come to realize?
Prabhupāda: He must know that he’s servant.
Satsvarūpa: By hearing.
Prabhupāda: By practically knowing he’s a… Are you independent, anyone? Everyone is servant. He’s serving his senses. That’s all. He’s servant. He’s never master. But he has become the servant of māyā or senses. That’s all. He has to change only; instead of becoming servant of māyā, be servant of Kṛṣṇa. Servant he is. Where he’ll go? How he will become master? To remain a servant is his position. He cannot become master. That is false pride. As soon as he wants to be master, that is false pride. That is māyā. “So if I am servant, then I have to serve. So why shall I serve the senses’ dictation? I will serve Kṛṣṇa, what He says.” So he’s self-realized immediately, within a second. Where is the difficulty to become self-realized? Hm? Is there any difficulty? He must know that “I am serving. I am never master. But serving the senses, that’s all, whims of the senses in the name of independence.” That is not possible. Very simple philosophy. One who understands, he’s self-realized. And if he preaches, then he becomes recognized. On this principle we shall help everyone. “Come here. Stay with us nicely. Nicely you can. But serve Kṛṣṇa. We take responsibility.” Organize in this way throughout the whole world. Give them shelter; give them food; give them cloth. That is the most benevolent welfare activity in the human society. So here people have generally tendency to come to the beach to enjoy. “All right, we shall give you a place. Come on. Stay here. You haven’t got to pay anything for food or lodging. Simply attend ārati, classes. Then… For experiment, three days’ period, you see.”

Some Conclusions—From the above short conversation, when Srila Prabhupada says what is the difficulty to become self realized in one second, we can see at least historically and even now, that this simple point, of being nothing but a servant was never understood by some so called leading, “self realized people”. What to speak of today, or, our very own selves?? And if we could have remained simple servants of our spiritual master Srila Prabhupada, then the world would be a completely different place today. The mission would have remained intact. Please consider the following points about who is and who is not self realized…..

SB 1.9.44 purport- The Lord is served by all His parts and parcels, as the complete machine is served by its parts and parcels. Any part of the machine removed from the whole is no longer important. Similarly, any part and parcel of the Absolute detached from the service of the Lord is useless.…When the living being becomes conscious of this fact, he tries to go back home, back to Godhead, and thus the spiritual urge of the living being begins. This spiritual urge is called brahma–jijñāsā, or inquiry about Brahman..

Today’s Deity Darshan

SB 1.10.27 purport-…The Lord is the soul of all living beings, and He desires always to have all the living beings, in their svarūpa, in their constitutional position, to participate in transcendental life in His association. His attractive features and sweet smiles go deep into the heart of everyone, and once it is so done the living being is admitted into the kingdom of God, from which no one returns. This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gītā.

And Lord Krishna sent Srila Prabhupada, His bona fide representative

All glories to Srila Prabhupada please accept my humble obeisances.

All glories to Lord Narasimha.

In my search I found an old page from Krishna.org titled: Who’s Representing Srila Prabhupada?

Who’s Representing Srila Prabhupada?

When our accepted leader Srila Prabhupada gives a command we continue to follow that command until otherwise instructed whether he is physically present in the field or whether he is not. Srila Prabhupada is his own authority in the same way that Krsna is His own authority. The authority of Srila Prabhupada cannot be removed by anyone regardless of whether Srila Prabhupada appointed anyone to any position or not. His instructions and commands must match his original dispatches otherwise confusion and stalemate will result. Anyone can study his original works to decide if his instructions and commands are being followed, anyone. If it is found by those searching that changes have been made to any original instructions by anyone other than Srila Prabhupada then one is not bound to follow the instructing authorities who approve of those changes regardless of their approved or illegitimate position. Necessary changes to one’s life and position within society will come about by reading Srila Prabhupada’s original books and instructions not by adhering to those who’s lives are constantly changing via mental speculation. By reading and re reading again and again the original transcendental literature by Srila Prabhupada one will find new incites and realizations and make spiritual progress that only Srila Prabhupada can convey to the student. Below are two verses from the original 1972 Bhagavad Gita As It Is that I think address this present topic in general. Some parts are underlined by me that I find significant. One has to decide for themselves if they do or not. Going through these verses completely will mean that one is still searching sincerely and that is all that anyone can ask.

Chapter 4: Transcendental Knowledge
TEXT 7
yada yada hi dharmasya
glanir bhavati bharata
abhyutthanam adharmasya
tadatmanam srjamy aham
SYNONYMS
yada—whenever; yada—wherever; hi—certainly; dharmasya—of religion; glanih—discrepancies; bhavati—manifested, becomes; bharata—O descendant of Bharata; abhyutthanam—predominance; adharmasya—of irreligion; tada—at that time; atmanam—self; srjami—manifest; aham—I.

TRANSLATION
Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion—at that time I descend Myself.

PURPORT
The word srjami is significant herein. Srjami cannot be used in the sense of creation, because, according to the previous verse, there is no creation of the Lord’s form or body, since all of the forms are eternally existent. Therefore srjami means that the Lord manifests Himself as He is. Although the Lord appears on schedule, namely at the end of Dvapara-yuga of the twenty-eighth millennium of the eighth Manu, in one day of Brahma, still He has no obligation to adhere to such rules and regulations because He is completely free to act in many ways at His will. He therefore appears by His own will whenever there is a predominance of irreligiosity and a disappearance of true religion. Principles of religion are laid down in the Vedas, and any discrepancy in the matter of properly executing the rules of the Vedas makes one irreligious. In the Bhagavatam it is stated that such principles are the laws of the Lord. Only the Lord can manufacture a system of religion. The Vedas are also accepted as originally spoken by the Lord Himself to Brahma, from within his heart. Therefore, the principles of dharma, or religion, are the direct orders of the Supreme Personality of Godhead (dharmam tu saksat-bhagavat-pranitam). These principles are clearly indicated throughout the Bhagavad-gita. The purpose of the Vedas is to establish such principles under the order of the Supreme Lord, and the Lord directly orders, at the end of the Gita, that the highest principle of religion is to surrender unto Him only, and nothing more. The Vedic principles push one towards complete surrender unto Him; and, whenever such principles are disturbed by the demonic, the Lord appears. From the Bhagavatam we understand that Lord Buddha is the incarnation of Krsna who appeared when materialism was rampant and materialists were using the pretext of the authority of the Vedas. Although there are certain restrictive rules and regulations regarding animal sacrifice for particular purposes in the Vedas, people of demonic tendency still took to animal sacrifice without reference to the Vedic principles. Lord Buddha appeared to stop this nonsense and to establish the Vedic principles of nonviolence. Therefore each and every avatara, or incarnation of the Lord, has a particular mission, and they are all described in the revealed scriptures. No one should be accepted as an avatara unless he is referred to by scriptures. It is not a fact that the Lord appears only on Indian soil. He can advent Himself anywhere and everywhere, and whenever He desires to appear. In each and every incarnation, He speaks as much about religion as can be understood by the particular people under their particular circumstances. But the mission is the same—to lead people to God consciousness and obedience to the principles of religion. Sometimes He descends personally, and sometimes He sends His bona fide representative in the form of His son, or servant, or Himself in some disguised form.
The principles of the Bhagavad-gita were spoken to Arjuna, and, for that matter, to other highly elevated persons, because he was highly advanced compared to ordinary persons in other parts of the world. Two plus two equals four is a mathematical principle that is true both in the beginner’s arithmetic class and in the advanced class as well. Still, there are higher and lower mathematics. In all incarnations of the Lord, therefore, the same principles are taught, but they appear to be higher and lower in varied circumstances. The higher principles of religion begin with the acceptance of the four orders and the four statuses of social life, as will be explained later. The whole purpose of the mission of incarnations is to arouse Krsna consciousness everywhere. Such consciousness is manifest and nonmanifest only under different circumstances.

Srila Prabhupada is fully represented in this next translation. To deny that he is by anyone means that they are free to follow otherwise. However to accept that Srila Prabhupada is fully represented in this verse means that one is accepting that Srila Prabhupada is infallible. Therefore one has the freedom to accept his original instructions without compromise or encroachment
by any other authority and will not suffer any loss in one’s spiritual progress.

Chapter 15: The Yoga of the Supreme Person
TEXT 5
nirmana-moha jita-sanga-dosa
adhyatma-nitya vinivrtta-kamah
dvandvair vimuktah sukha-duhkha-samjnair
gacchanty amudhah padam avyayam tat
SYNONYMS
nir—without; mana—respect; mohah—illusion; jita—having conquered; sanga—association; dosah—faulty; adhyatma—spiritual; nityah—eternity; vinivrtta—associated; kamah—lusts; dvandvaih—with duality; vimuktah—liberated; sukha-duhkha—happiness and distress; samjnaih—named; gacchanti—attains; amudhah—unbewildered; padam—situation; avyayam—eternal; tat—that.

TRANSLATION
One who is free from illusion, false prestige, and false association, who understands the eternal, who is done with material lust and is freed from the duality of happiness and distress, and who knows how to surrender unto the Supreme Person, attains to that eternal kingdom.

PURPORT
The surrendering process is described here very nicely. The first qualification is that one should not be deluded by pride. Because the conditioned soul is puffed up, thinking himself the lord of material nature, it is very difficult for him to surrender unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One should know by the cultivation of real knowledge that he is not lord of material nature; the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the Lord. When one is free from delusion caused by pride, he can begin the process of surrender. For one who is always expecting some honor in this material world, it is not possible to surrender to the Supreme Person. Pride is due to illusion, for although one comes here, stays for a brief time and then goes away, he has the foolish notion that he is the lord of the world. He thus makes all things complicated, and he is always in trouble. The whole world moves under this impression. People are considering that the land, this earth, belongs to human society, and they have divided the land under the false impression that they are the proprietors. One has to get out of this false notion that human society is the proprietor of this world. When one is freed from such a false notion, he becomes free from all the false associations caused by familial, social, and national affections. These fake associations bind one to this material world. After this stage, one has to develop spiritual knowledge. One has to cultivate knowledge of what is actually his own and what is actually not his own. And, when one has an understanding of things as they are, he becomes free from all dual conceptions such as happiness and distress, pleasure and pain. He becomes full in knowledge; then it is possible for him to surrender to the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

OM and Hare Krsna mantra discussion

OM and Hare Krsna mantra discussion
Sept 29 1976 Vrndavana
Upanisads are meant to bring one closer to Krsna-if we say Krsna is God, you may not like that, so Upanisad says chant Omkara instead which is nondifferent than Krsna.
Doctor: No, mantras. I have come to mantra. Klīṁ kṛṣṇāya govindāya gopījanavallabhāya namaḥ. Is that not a very powerful Kṛṣṇa mantra?
Prabhupāda: Yes.
Doctor: That is better than Hare Kṛṣṇa.
Prabhupāda: No. Hare Kṛṣṇa is therefore called mahā-mantra.
Doctor: Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare.
Prabhupāda: Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare.
Doctor: This you regard as the, higher than any other…
Prabhupāda: Oh yes. Therefore it is called mahā-mantra.
Doctor: …the highest sort of word?
Prabhupāda: No. If you keep Kṛṣṇa, that “This praṇava is the sound representation of Kṛṣṇa,” then it is all right. If you think it is separately powerful than Kṛṣṇa, that is nāma-aparādha.
Doctor: I understand.
Prabhupāda: Yes. If you accept it as Kṛṣṇa says, that “I am praṇava,” if you do remember Kṛṣṇa by chanting oṁkāra, then it is all right.
Doctor: Otherwise, om is only given to sannyāsīs?
Prabhupāda: Not necessarily. It is not mentioned there. Anyone chanting Vedic mantra, he has to begin with oṁkāra.
… The difficulty is that we consider Kṛṣṇa is different from oṁkāra.
Doctor: That is a mistake.
Prabhupāda: That is a mistake.

Depending and not depending upon God-results of both

SB 1.9.22 purport-…Having unflinching faith in the Supreme Lord as one’s protector, friend and master is the natural condition of eternal life. A living entity is so made by the will of the Almighty that he is most happy when placing himself in a condition of absolute dependence.
The opposite tendency is the cause of falldown. The living entity has this tendency of falling down by dint of misidentifying himself as fully independent to lord it over the material world. The root cause of all troubles is there in false egotism. One must draw towards the Lord in all circumstances.

SB 1.13.27 purport-..  One should therefore practice devotional service at home, hearing and chanting the holy name, quality, form, pastimes, entourage, etc., in association with pure devotees, and this practice will help one awaken God consciousness in proportion to one’s sincerity of purpose. One who desires material benefit by such devotional activities can never depend on the Supreme Personality of Godhead, although He sits in everyone’s heart. Nor does the Lord give any direction to persons who worship Him for material gain. Such materialistic devotees may be blessed by the Lord with material benefits, but they cannot reach the stage of the first-class human being, as above mentioned.
Madhya 22.100 purport-..(the 6 conditions of surrender)One who is fully surrendered is qualified with the six following characteristics. (1) The devotee has to accept everything that is favorable for the rendering of transcendental loving service to the Lord. (2) He must reject everything unfavorable to the Lord’s service. This is also called renunciation. (3) A devotee must be firmly convinced that Kṛṣṇa will give him protection. (4) The devotee should accept Kṛṣṇa as his supreme maintainer and master.  (5) Self-surrender means remembering that one’s activities and desires are not independent. The devotee is completely dependent on Kṛṣṇa, and he acts and thinks as Kṛṣṇa desires. (6) The devotee is meek and humble.
Some Conclusions-so we can see from the above that to place ourselves in a condition of utter dependence upon Krsna is the best, but if we desire anything material we cannot do such a thing because we still “want” something from the Lord, separate than giving Him service. And when we want something or so many things, then the Lord in our hearts will not give us any directional help in going back to Godhead. He will give us all kinds of material opulences, but never Himself or His Abode as our residence.

who is a human being and who is an animal?–SP

Adi 9.42 Translation—“It is the duty of every living being to perform welfare activities for the benefit of others with his life, wealth, intelligence and words.”
PURPORT-There are two kinds of general activities-śreyas, or activities which are ultimately beneficial and auspicious, and preyas, or those which are immediately beneficial and auspicious. For example, children are fond of playing. They don’t want to go to school to receive an education, and they think that to play all day and night and enjoy with their friends is the aim of life. Even in the transcendental life of Lord Kṛṣṇa, we find that when He was a child He was very fond of playing with His friends of the same age, the cowherd boys. He would not even go home to take His dinner. Mother Yaśodā would have to come out to induce Him to come home. Thus it is a child’s nature to engage all day and night in playing, not caring even for his health and other important concerns. This is an example of preyas, or immediately beneficial activities. But there are also śreyas, or activities which are ultimately auspicious. According to Vedic civilization, a human being must be God conscious. He should understand what God is, what this material world is, who he is, and what their interrelationships are. This is called śreyas, or ultimately auspicious activity.
In this verse of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam it is said that one should be interested in śreyas. To achieve the ultimate goal of śreyas, or good fortune, one should engage everything, including his life, wealth and words, not only for himself but for others also. However, unless one is interested in śreyas in his own life, he cannot preach of śreyas for the benefit of others. This verse cited by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu applies to human beings, not to animals.

materialistic devotees may get material opulence but they cannot reach the stage of the first class Human Being

Hare Krsna-

Below we have some statements by Srila Prabhupada in various places within his books, where he is telling us that the Lord and Master of everyone, Lord Krsna, has been, unknown to us with us-since we left His abode billions of years ago in our countless births here.
He also tells us how this same Lord Krsna has supplied us innumerable times with all His material ingredients so that we can illusion ourselves by mistakingly thinking we are Him, and we are doing everything.
And the part I like the most is when Srila Prabhupada tells us how by this gradual process of bhakti yoga, we can actually see God within our hearts. Not only can we see Him, with his constant smiling face, but He will talk to us and we can talk with  Him.
Most religious people, be they so called Hindu, Christian, Muslim or whatever really do not care about this mystical aspect of Dharma. But it is real and it is the end of our endless quest for happiness.

———————————–
1.) KB 2-31…
“My dear Lord,” he said, …You are associating with all the living entities as Paramātmā since the beginning of creation.”
This statement of the brāhmaṇa is very instructive. It is a fact that the Supreme Lord Personality of Godhead in His Paramātmā feature entered the creation of this material world as Mahā-Viṣṇu, Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu and Kṣīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, and in a very friendly attitude the Lord is sitting along with the conditioned soul in the body. Therefore, every living entity has the Lord with him from the very beginning, but due to his mistaken consciousness of life, the living entity cannot understand this. When his consciousness is, however, changed into Kṛṣṇa consciousness, he can immediately understandhow Kṛṣṇa is trying to assist the conditioned souls to get out of the material entanglement.
Śrutadeva continued, “My dear Lord, You have entered this material world as if in a sleeping condition. A conditioned soul, while sleeping, creates false or temporary worlds in his mind; he becomes busy in many illusory activities–sometimes becoming a king, sometimes being murdered or sometimes going to an unknown city–and all these are simply temporary affairs. Similarly, Your Lordship, apparently also in a sleeping condition, enters this material world to create a temporary manifestation, not for Your personal necessities, but for the conditioned soul who wants to imitate Your Lordship as enjoyer. The conditioned soul’s enjoyment in the material world is temporary and illusory. And yet the conditioned soul is by himself unable to create such a temporary situation for his illusory enjoyment. In order to fulfill his desires, although they are temporary and illusory, You enter in this temporary manifestation to help him. Thus, from the beginning of the conditioned soul’s entering into the material world, You are his constant companion. When, therefore, the conditioned soul comes in contact with a pure devotee and takes to devotional service, beginning from the process of hearing Your transcendental pastimes, glorifying Your transcendental activities, worshiping Your eternal form in the temple, offering prayers to You and engaging in discussion to understand Your transcendental position, he then gradually becomes freed from the contamination of material existence. His heart becomes cleansed of all material dust, and thus gradually You become visible in the heart of the devotee. Although You are constantly with the conditioned soul, only when he becomes purified by devotional service do You become revealed to him. Others, who are bewildered by fruitive activities, either by Vedic injunction or customary dealings, and who do not take to devotional service, become captivated by the external happiness of the bodily concept of life. You are not revealed to such persons. Rather, You remain far, far away from them. But for one who, being engaged in Your devotional service, has purified his heart by constant chanting of Your holy name, You become very easily understood as his eternal constant companion.
“It is said that Your Lordship, sitting in the heart of a devotee, gives him direction by which he can very quickly come back to home, back to You. This direct dictation by You reveals Your existence within the heart of the devotee. Only a devotee can immediately appreciate Your existence within his heart, whereas for a person who has only a bodily conception of life and is engaged in sense gratification You always remain covered by the curtain of yogamāyā. Such a person cannot realize that You are very near, sitting within his heart.
2.) Adi 1.52 purport–The truth of these mysteries was revealed to Brahmā by the descending process, without the help of the ascending one. His mercy descends to a devotee like Brahmā and, through Brahmā, to Nārada, from Nārada to Vyāsa, from Vyāsadeva to Śukadeva and so on in the bona fide chain of disciplic succession. We cannot discover the mysteries of the Lord by our mundane endeavors; they are only revealed, by His grace, to the proper devotees. These mysteries are gradually disclosed to the various grades of devotees in proportion to the gradual development of their service attitude. In other words, impersonalists who depend upon the strength of their poor fund of knowledge and morbid speculative habits, without submission and service in the forms of hearing, chanting and the others mentioned above, cannot penetrate to the mysterious region of transcendence where the Supreme Truth is a transcendental person, free from all tinges of the material elements. Discovering the mystery of the Lord eliminates the impersonal feature realized by common spiritualists who are merely trying to enter the spiritual region from the mundane platform.

AI Lacks Real Intelligence

 AI Lacks Real Intelligence.
hasti gopala dasa.
Pranams

Seems as if Paramatma is hinting at a new article regarding this so called AI threat and so called AI ability. All intelligence will come from Him and Srila Prabhupada of course. I’ll keep you posted.
Ys Hasti
Excerpt from Chapter 7 Text 15 Bhagavad Gita
The atheistic plan-makers are described herein by the word duskrtina, or “miscreants.” Krtina means one who has performed meritorious work. The atheist planmaker is sometimes very intelligent and meritorious also, because any gigantic plan, good or bad, must take intelligence to execute. But because the atheist’s brain is improperly utilized in opposing the plan of the Supreme Lord, the atheistic planmaker is called duskrtina, which indicates that his intelligence and efforts are misdirected.
There are a great number of mayayapahrta-jnanas at the present moment, even amongst the scholars of the Gita. In the Gita, in plain and simple language, it is stated that Sri Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. There is none equal to or greater than Him. He is mentioned as the father of Brahma, the original father of all human beings. In fact, Sri Krsna is said to be not only the father of Brahma but also the father of all species of life. He is the root of the impersonal Brahman and Paramatma; the Supersoul in every entity is His plenary portion. He is the fountainhead of everything, and everyone is advised to surrender unto His lotus feet. Despite all these clear statements, the mayayapahrta-jnana deride the Personality of the Supreme Lord and consider Him merely another human being. They do not know that the blessed form of human life is designed after the eternal and transcendental feature of the Supreme Lord.
All the unauthorized interpretations of the Gita by the class of mayayapahrta-jnana, outside the purview of the parampara system, are so many stumbling blocks in the path of spiritual understanding. The deluded interpreters do not surrender unto the lotus feet of Sri Krsna, nor do they teach others to follow this principle.

Sriman Jayananda Prabhu tirobhava tithi, Friday, April 27, 2018 [Los Angeles, CA, USA time- Saturday, April 28, 2018 Mayapura Time

Srila Prabhupada confirmed that Jayananda went Back Home, Back to Godhead
compiled by Yasoda nandana dasa

In the middle of May 1977, Srila Prabhupada was speaking with His godbrother, `OBL Kapoor. in his room at the Krsna Balarama temple in Vrindavana. Srila Prabhupada had recently received news that his dear disciple, Jayananda Prabhu, had departed his body in Los Angeles while hearing the chanting of Hare Krsna maha mantra in the beginning of May 1977. As Srila Prabhupada was explaining to Dr. Kapoor that Jayananda was one of his first disciples and had contributed towards the first printing of The Teachings of Lord Caitanya, he related that Jayananda was hearing the maha-mantra when he died. Srila Prabhupada then told Dr. Kapoor that he went back home, back to Krsna. He then quoted the verse from Bhagavad-Gita (4.9) janma karma ca me divyam . Tears dropped from his eyes and Srila Prabhupada was very pleased to hear the auspicious news of Jayananda’s departure.

Srila Prabhupada: Jayānanda looks like Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu

Srila Prabhupāda: …worship prevents snake biting. That is a village worship. So, in every demigod worship there are drum beaters. So, a party of drum beaters were engaged, and when the fees, bill, of the drum beaters was to be paid, the demigod Mansa(?) was sold. They could not pay the bills. Similarly, we may print our books, but the binding charges are so high, then it will cost more than getting it from Japan. (chuckles) Jayānanda looks like Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. (laughter) Yes. He was tall and stout and strong, Caitanya Mahāprabhu. (laughing) Yes. Very good. And in Vṛndāvana, when Kīrtanānanda was given sannyāsa, he was looking so nice with this dress and daṇḍa, oh, practically all the devotees of Vṛndāvana came to offer him respect. Yes. On Janmāṣṭamī day I offered him sannyāsa. So many devotees came to see in the temple. So, there was a big crowd. He was looking very nice. Caitanya Mahāprabhu was also very fair-complexioned. So, with this dress, persons with fair complexion looks very nice, very attractive. People are not attracted with this dress in kīrtana party? (laughs) This bare head with tilaka and this dress, they will know that they are coming from, directly from the kingdom of God. (laughs) Actually it is so. They have forgotten God; otherwise they would have received these brahmacārīs so nicely. In India, oh, you’ll be received just like gods with this dress. Hundreds and thousands of people will come to receive you. Yes. That is sufficient. (kīrtana) So how Bīrabhadra is feeling? (Bīrabhadra answers?) He has got pains in the body? https://prabhupadabooks.com/classes/initiations/talk_initiation_lecture_and_ten_offenses_lecture/los_angeles/december/01/1968

Srila Prabhupada: Now you give me ten thousand
(sounds of devotees entering, offering obeisances, chanting japa)
Srila Prabhupāda: Jayānanda, how are you? So, you are married now? Eh? So where is your marriage presentation?
Jayānanda: Pardon?
Srila Prabhupāda: When you are not married, you gave me five thousand dollars. Now you are married, you must give me now ten thousand, double. Come on. Hare Kṛṣṇa. Link to this page: https://prabhupadabooks.com/conversations/1971/jun/darsana/san_francisco/june/28/1971

Srila Prabhupada: Jayananda haws paid me five thousand dollars
Srila Prabhupāda: So, if we invite them to see it, that how they are helping efficiently with latest machine…. Therefore, it has been possible. Otherwise while in India with great hardship I could publish three books only.
Reporter (1): They are very beautifully printed.
Reporter (5): Where did the money come from to print such lavish editions of your books?
Srila Prabhupāda: The money comes…. We are selling books daily.
Reporter (5): No, but initially you do require a…
Srila Prabhupāda: Eh?
Reporter (5): Initially it requires some money to print such a lavish book.
Srila Prabhupāda: Initially I took some books from here. They are not so nicely printed, but still, I sold them. Then gradually increased. They paid the money and then…. They made contributions. One of my student, he first, Jayānanda…. He…. No, first paid me…. He, he has first paid me five thousand dollars. Then Brahmānanda paid me five thousand dollars. In this way gradually, money came.
Reporter (1): Swamiji, you write originally in English or these books are being translated from some other language into English…
Srila Prabhupāda: No, translated, but I give my purport. That is…. They like very much. Present the purport in such a way they can understand it. The original verse is there, but they are explained by me.
Reporter (1): Give some critical comments and explanations.
Srila Prabhupāda: Yes. That they like. Link to this page: https://prabhupadabooks.com/conversations/1976/mar/conversation_with_news_reporters/delhi/march/25/1976

Srila Prabhupada: Our Jayānanda was driving taxi and chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, and one day (laughter) he brought to me five thousand dollars

This taxi driver is saying Hare Kṛṣṇa.
Srila Prabhupāda: Our Jayānanda was driving taxi and chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, and one day (laughter) he brought to me five thousand dollars.
Devotee: And you used it to print Teachings of Lord Caitanya.
Srila Prabhupāda: Huh?
Devotee: Was that the time?
Srila Prabhupāda: I think, yes.
Devotee: You kept it then.
Srila Prabhupāda: It was given for publishing Bhagavad-gītā, but I think Macmillan took it. So, I spent it for…
Devotee: Then you put him in charge to sell all the Teachings of Lord Caitanya, I remember. (Prabhupāda laughs)
Jayānanda: (indistinct) Didn’t sell too many books, though.
Devotee: I thought he was the best, most appropriate person to drive you.
Srila Prabhupāda: He was chanting and driving. Very good boy. Link to this page: https://prabhupadabooks.com/conversations/1976/jul/arrival_comments_in_car_to_temple/new_york/july/09/1976

Srila Prabhupāda: And Jayānanda should be congratulated

Srila Prabhupāda: Palanquin; no, the siṁhāsana as it is. Just like this is siṁhāsana, two big poles down, and tie it with…, cut it with legs and carry, four men or eight men change. Change the soldiers.
Devotee; But not on carts, not on big chariots.
Srila Prabhupāda: No. Chariot, only Ratha-yātrā.
Devotee: We’ll make a big advertisement. We’ll call it “Fall Festival.” This festival, we called it “Summer Festival.” People respond to that. If you say Ratha-yātrā, they can’t even pronounce the word. So, we call it “Summer Festival,” and they came.
Hari-śauri: “Summer Festival” sounds very attractive.
Devotee: Everyone was saying, “Oh, that means for me, Summer Festival.”
Hari-śauri: “Ecstasy Outdoors.”
Srila Prabhupāda: And Jayānanda should be congratulated. Yes. Give one letter, written. I…
Devotee: The carts looked magnificent.
Devotee: Two people worked the hardest Prabhupāda, Jayānanda and all of his assistants, and Toṣaṇa Kṛṣṇa. He did all of the publicity and advertisement.
Srila Prabhupāda: They should be congratulated.
Devotee: These two men, they worked the hardest.
Prabhupāda: Yes.
Devotee: They worked for two months in a row, solid. The carts were very good, I think.
Srila Prabhupāda: Oh, yes, very nice, very strong.
Devotee: Because you gave him that warning. When he heard that, oh, he became very… “I must do it right.” We told him, “Now you will have to be replaced. Prabhupāda has said that ‘Jayānanda’s wheels will never hold up.’ So, we have to find a replacement for you.” So, he took no chances.
Srila Prabhupāda: San Francisco it also happened.
Devotee: Seems to me that he must be a great devotee of Lord Jagannātha.
Srila Prabhupāda: Same thing happened in London also. Link to this page: https://prabhupadabooks.com/conversations/1976/jul/new_york/july/18/1976

Letter to: Brahmananda
Stinson Beach, Calif
11 July, 1967
67-07-11

My Dear Brahmananda,
Please accept my blessings. I hope things are going on in New York very nicely, but I have not heard from you since coming here. On the plane I had no inconvenience, and I ate all the puris brought by Kirtanananda. Sometimes on the way there was little jerking (air pockets) and I got little nervous. Anyway, I got down safely and was received by the anxious devotees here. Jayananda in a nice car brought me to the house, which is situated in an exceptionally nice spot, and the house itself is aristocratic. So, there is nothing to complain about the house and place. The only difficulty is that I cannot go to the temple on account of the zig-zag course of the road in crossing the mountains. Anyway, the devotees are coming here, and the Rathayatra Festival was performed with great pomp. More than 500 people followed the procession to the beach, and there were about two dozen cars. They distributed thousands of capatis, and at last Sri Jagannatha, Subhadra, and Baladeva. kindly came here in our house and will stay here for one week and then return.

So, for my health is concerned, on the whole it is nice, but sometimes I feel not so good. Everything depends on Krishna, and as He desires it will happen.

Dvarakadhisa has informed me you have received one letter from the Japanese printers. I am very anxious to see the letters. You can direct my mail to:

Srila Prabhupada : Jayananda is unique devotee

Letter to: Krsna Devi
San Francisco
16 December, 1967
67-12-16

My Dear Daughter Krishna devi,
Please accept my blessings. I am so glad to know that Krishna did not allow you to do something that was not His plan. Krishna wanted that both you and your husband must be engaged in organizing nice center. Jayananda is unique devotee. He paid you sincerely and therefore as soon as you reached Santa Fe you found out a good place better than the former place. Please utilize your energy in this good task as I am sure success is awaiting you.

If there is labor cheap you can organize there some incense manufacturing concern. I wish that in every center we shall now manufacture incense very good quality. The only thing you have to assured to get the splinters or the thin sticks. If you think it will be possible to get, then immediately start the work. The ingredients are the splinters, charcoal, starch or gum and essential oils. It will be very lucrative business and the profits will be sufficient to maintain the center once you begin the work. I will give you many business ideas by which you can accumulate nice profits. For business four things are required. Namely place, labor, capital and organization. For incense we have already organization. Little capital you are gathering. The poverty place means you can get cheap labor and the place you have already in your possession. Guidance, I am present. So, do it immediately and there will be no scarcity of money. I hope you understand me right.

Be an ideal couple of husband and wife in your country. Be Krishna Consciousness by full cooperation of husband and wife and you be happy both in this and the next life also. Hope you are well.

Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Link to this page: https://prabhupadabooks.com/letters/san_francisco/december/16/1967/krsna_devi

Srila Prabhupada; Jayananda is a very sincere and intelligent boy and I think his decision should be accepted as final in the matter

Letter to: Gargamuni
Los Angeles
11 January, 1968
68-01-11

My Dear Gargamuni,

Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your statement regarding Jivanuga, and it is clear that he is crazy. I have already advised Jayananda in this connection that we cannot make the society an asylum for crazy people. It is not our business.

Jayananda is a very sincere and intelligent boy and I think his decision should be accepted as final in the matter. Not only in this case, but in every other complicated case. The elected authorities in the management of the temple should be the final authority in these matters. Otherwise, the society cannot be managed. Our main principle should be to advance the cause of K.C.

I am glad to learn that your co-operation for this society is appreciated by the authorities, We should learn to forget and forgive minor incidents because whenever there are two men in a place, there is always some misunderstanding. Such misunderstanding happens even between husband and wife—what to speak of others. But we have to adjust things on the basis of Krishna Consciousness. We should always remember that K.C. is a challenge to the modern misguided human society, and we have to meet many unfavorable incidents.

But if we are sincere to Krishna and the Spiritual Master, combinedly, then everything will be favorable settled. We should always remember that K. C. can only remain on two parallel lines of Krishna and Spiritual Master. Chant Hare Krishna sincerely and all good intelligence consultation shall come from within. Krishna says that those who are engaged in My service, I give intelligence for his progressive march.

Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami https://prabhupadabooks.com/letters/los_angeles/january/11/1968/gargamuni

Srila Prabhupada’s last letter to Jayananda
Letter to: Jayananda
Bombay
5 May, 1977
77-05-05

My Dear Jayananda,

Please accept my blessings.
I am feeling very intensely your separation. In 1967 you joined me in San Francisco. You were driving my car and chanting Hare Krsna. You were the first man to give me some contribution ($5000) for printing my Bhagavad-gita. After that, you have rendered very favorable service to Krsna in different ways. I so hope at the time of your death you were remembering Krsna and as such, you have been promoted to the eternal association of Krsna. If not, if you had any tinge of material desire, you have gone to the celestial kingdom to live with the demigods for many thousands of years and enjoy the most opulent life of material existence. From there you can promote yourself to the spiritual world. But even if one fails to promote himself to the spiritual world, at that time he comes down again on the surface of this globe and takes birth in a big family like a yogis’ or a brahmanas’ or an aristocratic family, where there is again chance of reviving Krsna Consciousness. But as you were hearing Krsna-kirtana, I am sure that you were directly promoted to Krsna-loka.

janma karma ca me divyam
evam yo vetti tattvatah
tyaktva deham punar janma
naiti man eti so’ rjuna
[Bg. 4.9]

Krsna has done a great favor to you, not to continue your diseased body, and has given you a suitable place for your service. Thank you very much.

Your ever well-wisher,

Srila Prabhupada’s instruction to place his picture on the Ratha-Yatra cart and to hold a festival in honor of Jayananda
Jayananda’s death is glorious. It is very good that he had stated, what is the use of such a useless body, better to give it up. He has left his body very wonderfully, and he has been transferred to Vaikuntha. I have already sent a condolence letter for publication in Back to Godhead. Everyone should follow the example of Jayananda. I am very proud that I had such a nice disciple. If possible Jayananda’s picture should be hung in the ratha of Lord Jagannatha, and in all of our temples a day may be set aside for holding a festival in his honor, just as we do on the disappearance day of the other great Vaisnavas. https://prabhupadabooks.com/letters/new_delhi/may/11/1977/ramesvara
