Have you ever wondered about our senses, like our mind, our eyes, our ears, our nose, the sense of touch, and what we are supposed to do with them?

We all have heard that you should just chant Hare Krsna mantra, but what do we do with ourselves when we are “done” with our rounds? None of us is Hari das Thakur who can chant endlessly,and effortlessly, so we have to do things with our bodies the rest of the time.

That question and its answers has always bothered me somewhat. How does one remain with Krsna , under His Daivi prakrti, even while he or she is going about daily work? Especially if that work is not some Deity worship, or reading sastra, or doing something like Hari nama or book dist or just preaching to someone about Krsna?

For the majority of the devotees in this world, we have to work at some job to maintain ourself and families. So how do we go about this work and at the same time expect to make spiritual advancement?

These questions are answered below by our acaryas, namely Srila Prabhupada, Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur,  Sri Narada Muni, Ambarish Maharaj and others.

THE BONA FIDE GURU IS CONNECTED TO KARUNA SAGARA-THE OCEAN OF MERCY

Similarly, the mercy cloud, karunya, karuna,

ghanaghanatvam… So just like ordinary cloud is made possible by

evaporating water from the sea, similarly, Krsna has the sea of mercy,

karunayamaya, karuna-sagara. Krsna’s another name is Karuna-sagara. So

as the air evaporate or the heat evaporate from the sea, and the cloud

is formed in the sky, similarly, one who has connection or the power

to evaporate the mercy sea of Krsna, he can extinguish the samsara

davanala.(repeated birth and death) And that is guru. Guru is the cloud or he is the agent of

drying water from the ocean of mercy of Krsna and turn it into a mercy

cloud and pour water on the samsara davanala, and then it is

extinguished. Samsara davanala-lidha-loka-tranaya

karunya-ghanaghanatvam, praptasya kalyana.

The first cauliflower of this season-may not seem like a big deal to those who go to

some store and buy them , but for those of us who are trying to eat only what

we grow, this IS a big deal.  This particular plant (called needles cauliflower ) takes 220 days to produce the

cauliflower and basically over winters outside first in a cold frame, then around March

I put them inside the greenhouse where they can flourish.

Last night before falling asleep I read this below in the conversation books. It is very instructive for devotees wishing for the blessings of God and Guru.  Hare Krsna is not a sit down do nothing spiritual movement. It is meant first of all for ourselves,individually, and then we give what we have  learned and assimilated to others.It comes in, and then goes out, but we feel invigorated by passing on this transcendental knowledge to all whom we meet.
