Over the years, we have all seen a lot of damage to the once prestigious worldwide Iskcon organization. Now, it is only a mere shadow of its past glory. And here below is one key reason. The present leaders of iskcon have minimized the actual instructions of Srila Prabhupada, and created their “own” version of Bhakti Tattva.

Starting every day with the offering of bhoga to turn it into Krsna Prasadam thru the un-authorized gurus of iskcon, everyone there is eating sinful foodstuffs, and not Krsna prasadam. See the proof below.

Without going into all the hundreds of changes the iskcon GBC’s have authorized, merely changing

whimsically ,only ONE instruction, disconnects themselves from the param para and renders that “service” useless. What to speak of main instructions-like first of all-HOW TO OFFER FOOD TO GOD !! Now here below is the actual words of Srila Prabhupada , where he tells his early disciples the process of offering bhoga or food to God, Krsna. And there are many other quotes like this one.

The Spiritual Master offers to Lord Caitanya, and Lord Caitanya offers it to Krishna. So when you offer something, you think like that and chant the Gayatri mantra, and then everything is complete. Drinking a little alcohol, eating a little meat? Prabhupada: Then how did he say that “Thou shall not kill”? Srutakirti: That was actually the Ten Commandments. That was given by God. Ganesa: Given to Moses. Srutakirti: That was given to Moses by God. The Ten Commandments. Prabhupada: That is not Christ has said? Srutakirti: Well, Christ enforced it. Paramahamsa: It was accepted by him as one of the rules. Srutakirti: Christ’s greatest commandment was to love God above all things. So if one is to love God, one must follow His instructions. Prabhupada: Who is following the instructions? Srutakirti: We are. Prabhupada: But supposing Christ distributed fish, but did he say that we shall maintain regular slaughterhouse for killing animals? Srutakirti: He was against that. He threw the men out of the temple, because they were selling lambs in the temple to be offered at the altar. So he kicked them out, saying this temple is not a place for sellling animals for slaughter. Paramahamsa: But in one place they say Christ encouraged fishermen. Because he came and the fishermen were fishing on one side of the boat, and Christ came along and said, “You are fishing on the wrong side of the boat.” He said, “Put your nets on the other side, and you will get more fish.” An they did that and they got huge amounts of fish. And so they were encouraged in their fish-eating in this way. Ganesa: Jesus also said to the fisherman, “Give up you fishing and I will make you fishers of men.” He said this to his disciples. Prabhupada: Then on the whole it comes that his instructions are sometimes contradictory. Paramahamsa: Not only that but they say that… Usually when it comes right down to it, the Bible has gone through so many interpretations and so many changes in the last two thousand years that… Prabhupada: Yes. It is very difficult. Paramahamsa: People…, I’ve talked to professors who know the original Hebrew and the original tongues that the Bible was written in. They say that is has changed so much that you can hardly… Prabhupada: Yes, they are changing. REFUTATION OF VEDAVYAS’S “REBUTTAL OF THE RITVIK PHILOSOPHY”

First of all the author Vedavyas misunderstands the subject of his rebuttal of “Prabhupada Siddhanta” as so-called ritvik philosophy. Actually Srila Prabhupada himself in his July 9, 1977 letter to all GBC and temple presidents worldwide is the basis for the so-called ritvik philosophy vis-à-vis initiating new diciples on his behalf for after his physical disappearance. So the author’s own lack of understanding and/or ignorance of Srila Prabhupada’s ritvik subject matter disqualifies his entire rebuttal as mere strawman arguments missing the real point. However, the author’s thinking is so distorted from vaissnava philosophy that I will point out his own mistatements and delusions of the collective.

Contrary to Vedavyas’s belief, the parampara is a line of uttama adhikaris exclusively that cannot be rubber stamped, voted in, or appointed.. Anyone less than uttama adhikari is insufficient in knowledge and guidance and thus subject to maya. Hope all those who agree with the Ritvik system will cooperate to bring back Srila Prabhupada as Current Diksa Guru -  even if we have some differences:

77-01-13. Letter: Jayatirtha     The Christmas distribution in England is unimaginable. Europe is a great field for preaching. New York-Radha Damodara and Los Angeles have already accepted defeat. This transcendental competition is very encouraging. But combined together, we must defeat Maya and her influence. WHEN THE KURUS AND THE PANDAVAS USED TO FIGHT, THERE WERE 100 BROTHERS ON ONE SIDE, AND 5 BROTHERS ON THE OTHER SIDE. BUT WHEN THERE WAS ANOTHER PARTY, THEN THE 105 BROTHER WERE TOGETHER. IN THIS WAY, WE MUST COOPERATE TO SPREAD KRSNA CONSCIOUSNESS.

76-01-05. Letter: Satsvarupa Everything should be done co-operatively. "Our" and "your's" are material conceptions and have no place in our Krishna Consciousness movement. If the members of our movement are unable to co-operate it will be very difficult to spread the mission of Lord Caitanya. 72-11-18. Letter: Madhumangala Regarding general state of affairs at Amsterdam temple, I can understand there is some disturbance among you, but that is not to be taken very seriously. Real business is preaching work, and if there is full attention on this matter only, all other businesses will be automatically successful. Fighting amongst ourselves is not at all good, but if our preaching work is neglected, or if we fall down in following the regulative principles such as rising before four, chanting 16 rounds, like that, if these things are not strictly observed then maya will enter and spoil everything. So my best advice to you is to strictly observe these things yourself and be the example so that all others may follow. WE SHOULD NOT CRITICIZE EACH OTHER, AS VAISNAVAS, BECAUSE THERE IS FAULT IN EVERYONE AND WE MAY BE OURSELVES SUBJECT TO CRITICISM. BEST THING IS TO BE ABOVE SUSPICION OURSELVES, THEN IF WE SEE DISCREPANCIES AND MAKE SUGGESTION THE OTHERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESPECT AND TAKE ACTION TO RECTIFY THE MATTERS. THAT IS COOPERATION. AND WE MUST EXIST ON SUCH COOPERATION, OTHERWISE THE WHOLE THING IS DOOMED IF WE SIMPLY GO ON FIGHTING OVER SOME SMALL THING. So try to organize things and preach together in this spirit, and that will please me very, very much.

In regard to the posthumous editing of Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita As It Is, Jayadvaita Swami has expressed (emphasis added by Arsa-Prayoga staff):

1982:

“Comparing each verse in the book with the text of the manuscript, I made only those changes that to me seemed worthwhile. I tried to be conservative and not make needless changes.” (Jayadvaita Swami, letter to senior devotees, October 25, 1982)

1986:

“As you know, and as we kept in mind while doing the work, Srila Prabhupada staunchly opposed needless changes.” (Jayadvaita Swami, Letter to Amogha Lila, 1986)

1995:

“When Srila Prabhupada conveyed to us the conclusions of the previous acaryas, he did so perfectly, preserving and transmitting the philosophy exactly as it is, neither watering anything down, nor covering anything over, nor leaving anything out. He gave us the essence of everything.

We therefore don’t need to add anything, subtract anything, or change anything. We need only faithfully serve Srila Prabhupada’s orders, and everything will be revealed.” (Jayadvaita Swami, Sri Vyasa Puja book August 19,1995)

Why is the Ritvik System bonafide? by Urdhvaga Das (ACBSP)

Why the Ritvik System is bonafide! BECAUSE Srila Prabhupada says so!. We don’t say like this. It is Srila Prabhupada who says, that the Ritvik System is to be followed after his departure. Why you rascals contradict Srila Prabhupada?:

Satsvarupa: “Then our next question concerns initiations in the future, particularly at that time when you’re no longer with us. We want to know how first and second initiations would be conducted.” (May 28th discussion)

Prabhupada: “Yes; I shall recommend some of you. After this is settled up, I shall recommend some of you to act as officiating acharyas.”

Tamala Krsna: “Is that called ritvik-acharya?” Prabhupada: “Ritvik yes.”

The question arises, why all of those “anti-ritvik proponents” are against Srila Prabhupada? Why you rascals are so offensive to Srila Prabhupada, calling him a “Ritvikist” and other bad names, not following his instruction? Why do you reject His statement, concocting your own philosophy? The revised and enlarged edition of the Bhagavad-gita As It Is (BGAII), as published by the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) 1983, disregards the academic community’s protocols or standards governing the revised editions of the books. According to the guidelines now widely accepted and practiced by publishers and academicians, the names of editors and co-authors of such newly revised editions are to be included along with dates. This distinguishes such a 2nd edition from a publication which is only a second printing of an author’s original first edition.

A controversy was created because Srila Prabhupada, the author, was not present to consult with or personally authorize a re-edit of the book, which was first published as an unabridged, “complete edition” in 1972 by the Macmillan Company. From 1972 until 1977, the year Srila Prabhupada passed away, the book had been constantly studied by his disciples, widely distributed to the public and often favorably reviewed. During this time there were no proposals from anyone, nor an explicit authorization from Srila Prabhupada to revise the book then or in the future. Continue reading →
